Planning to arrive on a Saturday in June and do not want to use all the points at DVC. Any suggestions on an inexpensive place to stay for the first night?

We stayed at Country Inn and Suites at Calypso Cay in May. It was a newer hotel on 535 (I believe that was the road) and we paid $69/$99 for the two nights we stayed there. It was no more than 5 minutes away from WDW, also. You can check out the forum Orlando Hotels and Attractions for reviews of that and other off site hotels.

There is a Fairfield Inn, Springhill Suites, and Courtyard at Marriott Village in Little Lake Bryan which is to the just past I-4, after you turn right coming off Hotel Plaza Blvd. We stayed there for a Saturday night this past June, and it was very nice and convenient. Got a AAA rate as well.

Another vote for country inn and suites, we just returned from a week here, it is 10 min MAX to any park, easy to get to, very clean, new hotel and we paid ony 54 a night for a king suite using valuetrips.com, this price also included breakfast. My review is on this board. We usually like to stay on-site, but I would stay here again for the extra space and of course the great price.

We love the All Star's resort. Its on site and a great value. And you can have your bags transfered by Disney so there is no lost park time. The food courts are good and eventhough its a small room its just for 1 night. We look at it as sort of a "camp out" adventure befor our real vacation begings. maddy

I can recommend the Magic Castle at 5055 W Hwy 192, Kissimmee, FL Phone:407-396-2212, 800-446-5669.
I have stayed there twice (recently January 5-13). I paid $22.99 for a single person ($6 for an extra adult). Call the 800 number and see what the rates are now. I read that there are motels further down the strip that are charging $15/night as business is terrible.

Magic Castle has very clean rooms and very comfortable beds. There is a refrigerator in the room and a microwave in the common room where you get ice. They also offer a deluxe continental breakfast that has fruit (apples/bananas), cereals, Krispy Creme donuts, bagels, English muffins, toast, milk, juice, and coffee. They also have a pool.

They are also a VERY short distance from either Osceola Pkwy that goes straight to WDW (toll of $.50) or Hwy 535 that is not a toll road but doesn't have much traffic. Hwy 535 crosses Osceola Pkwy (when it is no longer a toll road) or you can go up to the Hotel Plaza Blvd that goes to Downtown Disney. It is an easy drive (at most 10 minutes could be shorter). Magic Castle is on Hwy 192 but I rarely take that road because there is more traffic on it. However, 192 is 3 lanes wide and moves quickly straight to WDW
I will be staying there again this November.
I could send you pictures of the place and the rooms.

My suggestion is to check the great rates they have on this site, and potentially check out something near Downtown Disney. Marriott Courtyard is sometimes $89 with Downtown Disney very close, shuttles to the parks, and possibly with the option of using early entry (used to be). DIS keeps track of some great deals.

Another great option we've used for the same type of arrival your talking about is a DIS deal at the Swan or Dolphin resort, we got a room there for $129. You still get taht wonderful feeling when you drive up to Disney world with all the special majic, they are first class resorts, yet not major point losses. Then we moved right across the lake to BWV, it was excellent.
