Suggestions for Honeymooning Couple?

Congratulations! My husband and I were just there for that very reason in January. :] The most important things I took away from it:

1. Get your buttons at the Main Street City Hall! This is my all time favorite thing to do when in Disney on a special occasion. As long as you are wearing them, literally almost every cast member you come in contact with will celebrate with you and tell you congrats! It's so sweet and really makes you feel special!

2. EnJOY Epcot! Epcot is truly the place to be for adults looking for a little romantic ambiance. Places to take note of: San Angel Inn, Tutto Italia, and Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie! All of these places I was skeptical about until we got there, but the food is DELICIOUS and the atmosphere is for grownups. (The patisserie is just quick service, but it obviously has amazing pastries!)

3. Do things you wouldn't normally stop and do, and let yourself take in everything with as much time as you want. That was my most favorite part of the honeymoon! It was all about us, so we FINALLY got to stop in at La Cava del Tequila, and had the most amazing drinks! Horchata is my favorite!

4. If you have spare time, you can use the Disney transportation to explore all of the resorts! We liked to find the most creative way to use our snack credits. Fun fact- there is a boat system that takes you directly from the Port Orleans resorts to Downtown Disney. Lots of fun to be had there, too!

Sorry we didn't do anything more off the beaten path. I wish we had gone to one of the spas or something like that, but that was just out of question with our budget, and we like to immerse ourselves in the parks anyway. I made it a point to ride every ride I came across, even the ones I was afraid of! With it just being me and my new husband, it was comforting knowing he was the only person I had to worry about judging me, and it brought us closer together to see him support me through it all. There is a shirt in the gift shop at the Tower Hotel that says "I conquered them all!" and it shows the six scariest "drop" rides in Disney! I debated buying it. lol

Above all, have fun. You only truly honeymoon once. Congrats and you will love it! :]

We honeymooned at WDW and I would also suggest getting the 'Happily Ever After' buttons on arrival. Where are you staying, as I might be able to come up with some resort specific ideas?

Other suggestions:
- A tour such as the Key to the Kingdom tour
- Romantic dinners at signature restaurants like Flying Fish and Narcoosee's
- Jelly Rolls dueling Piano Bar
- Cirque due Soleil
- A night time stroll around the Poly to watch Wishes
- Spa day
- Buy some bride and groom ears and get some good photos wearing them

It depends on what you are into:
sports: golf, mini-golf, fishing, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DTD, area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
movies: DTD 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour
eating: Formal GF 5* Chef's Table @ V&As

You can take a horse & buggy ride. They offer the ride at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. You could have dinner at the resort and then step outside for the horse & buggy ride. We did it last year.

Another vote for Jellyrolls, it's one of our favorite more adult places on property.
If you're looking for something more like fancy dining any of the signature restaurants can be great. The ones not at parks have a little more quality to price than those at parks. One thing we recently did was the Chef's Tasting at Flying Fish, it was a wonderful experience I'd highly recommend (review posted at http://thedisneywineblog.com/2015/07/19/chefs-tasting-at-flying-fish/).

If they are doing EMH late hours in the Magic Kingdom, plan to stay. You can get some amazing pictures in front of the castle at night, without crowds of people behind you.

no budget at all. We will be doing the premium dining plan, and anything extra we are fully able to cover thanks to some awesome grandparents and her being the only grandchild

Thanks so far for the responses. Also, we have considered the GF instead of YC and we debated about it several times. We are both in our mid 20's, enjoy a good drink or two, and want to do Disney "different" than we have previously. The last 3 trips have been very park heavy and we have stayed at CSR each time.

We have YC booked now, but would GF be a "better" option?

We were at AKL for our disneymoon earlier this year. Definitely would recommend getting the buttons, buying the groom/bride ear hats, and making sure to note your celebration on all your reservations. We even got cute Mr/Mrs Mickey and Minnie shirts from etsy. One thing that we really enjoyed was doing Hoop De Do Revue. The show was fun, food was great, and they take time to recognize celebrations!

I would stick to YC as it has access to World Showcase, Boardwalk and Swolphin for some great meals out and drinks.

Another vote for the Yacht Club. I actually find it more romantic than the Grand Floridian and the pool is fabulous!

Fireworks boat cruise! IllumiNations would be easiest, since they leave from YC.
