suggestions for flowergirl

I just found out my Goddaughter's family will not be coming to my wedding. She is 6 years old, and now heartbroken she will not be able to be my flowergirl (and I will not be replacing her). Do any of you have any suggestions on how to still make her feel included on my special day so far away? I want to do something for her? Any ideas??

Recently a friend of mine had the same situation with her bridesmaid. What she did was they went to this shop where you can design and make your own candle and then they put this on the table with the guest book with a card saying "for a special friend, who is far away" or something like that. They also included this on the video they had so the bridesmaid could see she was a part of the day.

Will you be having a reception at home by chance?

My aunt was married in Brazil when I was 4 and they had a reception back in Oklahoma. I was two at the time, and probably didn't have any idea what a flower girl was, but she bought me a dress and had a florist make me a flowered wreath to wear in my hair at the reception since I wasn't able to be the flower girl in her wedding.

Also there are some places online that sell really cute "flowergirl" t-shirts. Or maybe you could write her a little card saying how you thought of her that day, and have Cinderella sign it.

Thank you for the sweet ideas. When I had thought she would be coming I loved the idea of her carrying a rose wand. Unfortunately, I will not be having another recpetion back home, but I am thinking along the same idea of the candle I might still have a rose wand made and left on a pew thinking of her. Does that sound like a good idea, I wanted to give it to her when I got back home but that flower would be dead???!!
