Hi All! I've been to Orlando many times but always remain in the Disney bubble. In January I'm taking my niece down for an early 10th birthday trip. Her one request was to visit Harry Potter.

I'm planning on only doing a one day, one park ticket so I'm looking for tips on how to get the most out of IOA. I won't be able to ride some of the rides unless I meet my weight loss goals by the time we go so I know I will be waiting at the exits while she does some of the rides.

Any suggestions on what I must do and what attractions I can bypass if we are stuck for time?

Thanks so much!

There will be a few factors at work in January, one of them being possible wait times (early January will be busy, later on won't be), and whether or not it's cold enough to bypass the water rides (there are three in IOA).

I would definitely do everything in Potter- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challege (if she meets the 54" height requirement and is willing to go on a big roller coaster). The Ollivander's Wand Experience is also lovely although it has a very long wait. Remember to try the Butterbeer!

My other great rides are The Incredible Hulk (again, a large coaster with the 54" height requirement), The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, The Cat in the Hat, The Seuss Trolley Train Ride... and then the three water rides: Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and Jurassic Park River Adventure. All three of which have the potential to get you soaked, especially the toon-themed ones!

Attractions you could skip (in my opinion): Dr. Doom's Fearfall, Poseidon's Fury, Sinbad Stunt Show, Caro-Seuss-el, and Storm Force Accelatron, and Pteranadon Flyers (really long waits for this one).

skip dr doom...........

no way.

i love that ride
::yes::

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I wouldn`t miss DrD either......it may be short but it`s a fun short :)

I could miss Cat in the Hat, first time I ever went on this year and won`t be doing it again!!!! Loved Seuss Trolley Train though :thumbsup2

IF you have any kind of amusement park near where you live, you can probably skip Dr. Doom. It's no different from any other ride like it.

I would do it if the wait is short, but if you have no express and its a long wait, it's not a unique experience to universal.
