***Suggestions for first day?***

Does anyone have suggestions of things to do on the first day? We will be landing at Orlando International at 2:14pm, and I'm assuming we should be at our resort (POP) by at least 3:30pm. We have dinner ressies at 50's Primetime at 6:00pm. What would be some good things to do in the evening with DS(11) and DD(5) that's not going to wear them out for the next day?
Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.



July 2-10 2006 - POP - First Disney Vacation

We always just mosey around Downtown Disney, not buying anything, and get sundaes at Ghirardelli's. Then go home and swim and eat dinner at the food court by the pool.

We are getting in a little earlier in the day and will hit the pool first.
Then to Downtown Disney for a little shopping and probably dinner.

I'd definitely check out the time of Fantasmic if you're going to be in MGM in the evening-its a perfect way to fire up the Disney magic. You could get to the stadium early and sit and plan your next days strategy!

Good planning for Fantasmic if you will be there- but a 6p adr might make you too late to make Fantasmic. Also that becomes sort of a long thing for the first nite- if you're planning to be up and out early the next morning and dont want to wear them out. You might just do dinner and hit a few of the big ones --tot and rrrc star tours, etc--while you are there, then go back to hotel... If you are planning a full day at MGM later in your trip maybe do Fantasmic that night??

Depending on when we arrive, sometimes we hit Epcot WS for dinner and Illuminations. We also like to head to DTD for shopping and dinner.

For our next trip in January, since it's just me and DD, she is going to have an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Then we will head to the Boardwalk and eat at Spoodles and stroll around before getting a good night's sleep.
