Howdy all,

We're going to do another family portrait this year through disney photography.
I was hoping some people had some good suggestions of locations.

We did a session back in '01 at Magic Kingdom and they turned out great.
We had some shots taken
- in the rose garden between the castle and tomorrowland
- the grotto between the castle and the teacups
- as well as some taken on the main street bus
Mickey, Chip and Dale who just happend to be around jumped in for some pictures as well.

We're looking for a new place this year.

places I was thinking, but I don't know specifically where
- inside Grand Floridian
- beach outside Grand Floridian
- gardens in EPCOT
- International walkway to EPCOT
- Boardwalk
- We're DVC members at VWL, but I'm not sure where a good place there would be

Has anyone else had familiy portraits done or have suggestions where to take them?

thanks!

Does someone at Disneyland provide this service at the California Disneyland also? How much is it and how would I go about finding out prices, making a reservation, seeing past pictures...?

AB'sDad - When are you planning on being in WDW? We were thinking about having ours done at the GF inside and outside during our trip (May 21-29) but I haven't been able to find much information on specific locales that would be good.

we had ours done in world showcase. we booked the first time of the morning so there would not be others in our photos. they are great!!!

I would also love some info on pricing and packages, and how to reserve this.

Last spring we had Disney photography take our family portraits. I selected the United Kingdom and France in Epcot. We had the pictures taken early in the morning and had the park to ourselves. I was VERY pleased and thought they were beautiful! I would love to do it again!

Also :bounce: to see more info on this, we are have a gathering this summer and would love this!

We just returned from our trip and had our family portraits done at Wilderness Lodge.

This was our 2nd family portrait and we were very pleased both times.

This is the number we used to book
Disney Event Productions Photography
1503 Live Oak Lane
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
407-827-5099 or 407-827-5946

I've dealt with Dean and Stephanie to book sessions and our photographer was named Mike.

The cost was about $250 - sounds like a lot, but that includes the sitting fee as well as 1 copy of every proof in an album.
The reprint fees were reasonable.
Again, these fees aren't cheap, but relative to professional sessions they are reasonable.

We chose Wilderness lodge primarily because we are Vacation Club members there and its where we stay most trips.

We did Magic Kingdom before and were really pleased.

In hindsight, Wilderness lodge was just OK in my opinion.
We got some nice ones around the rocks and in some of the quiet sitting areas as well as of the kids on the beach and playing near the water.

If I had to do it again, I would probably go with Epcot World Showcase - Italy, France, UK.
Grand Floridian would be a close 2nd choice.

It just depends on what you want out of the pictures - we wanted some Disney, but not 100% Disney-in-your-face in every shot.
If you want a lot of Disney, defintely go with MK - you may even get a character or 2 in a shot

I do recommend scheduling it for 1st thing in the morning, especially in a park when its still closed.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions I'd be glad to offer what I know

Wow! This is a great idea! We are now thinking about doing this also! We are staying at AKL. I wonder if this would be a good place to do it? I would love to hear some other ideas also!

AB'sDad-

Great info! Thank you so much for taking time to post about your experience and how to get the photos done!

We are doing a gathering in Dec, and it has been about 5-6 years since we had the whole family in a photo - I think it's time to make up for that!

A less expensive option is to go to the Camera Center at the Magic Kingdom and have a "green screen" photo taken.

They can digitally superimpose many many backgrounds with your family. They have a large selection.

I believe there is a location to do this in the shop at Imagination in Epcot also.

We got an 8x10, 2 5x7, and 4 wallets for about $35 in 2000.
