We are thinking of selling one of our add-ons and I am wondering if any of you had done this before on your own and not through a broker?

Is it more of a hassle than it is worth? What kind of paperwork did you have to fill out? Any suggestions for where I can find a good contract template?

The Broker listing agent really puts together the buyer and seller. If you don't need that....and considering the demand, I don't see why you would,
you would just need to draw up a standard contract for Disney timeshare and give it to a Disney-acquainted title closing company...the Closing company does the presenting to Dis re ROFR etc.

So you would be offering it at your NET, the 10-12% commission savings should be split between you and buyer...there is a fairly easy way to do this.

You can PM me if you need more info, I can tell you what I did.

You can "list" it through www.tug2.net and other free listing sites. Do a search to find some.

Just use one of the closing services that the brokers use. The buyers normally pay for the closing anyways. If you need names and addresses of the closing services, ask. I'm sure tons of people here have that information from their own resales. Mine was so long ago I'd have to look for the paperwork

Word of advice: Create a new and separate e-mail address to handle inquiries. The private seller of my OKW resale told me that they got a ton of calls and e-mails for MONTHS after the sale went through.

I've sold two contracts, neither using a broker. On one we didn't even use a closing service, on the other we did. It's really pretty simple if you can find a buyer. I've also bought units privately, both DVC and otherwise.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone suggest some closing services I can look into?

The sponsor of this site will do the paperwork work for you for a fee and not charge you a commission to sell.

Another alternative (cheaper) is timeshareclosing.com

It is usually the buyer that pays for closing and it is the buyer who gets to choose the closing company. Once you get a deal in hand, you could offer up a couple of choices to the buyer.
