I am currently planning to visit WDW this fall with my 9 and 6 year old daughters. My wife is going away for a month and I thought it would be nice to get away with my girls for some Daddy Daughter time. I am a DVC member and have been to disney numerous times but always with my wife. I'm a little concerned about how to handle things like bathroom breaks, dealing with rides that won't allow 3 passengers, etc. Have any fathers traveled with young girls and can anyone offer tips or suggestions?

Thanks,

I am a mom & my dh comes with me so you can ignore me.

There are family bathrooms at the parks so you can wait outside the door. I am not sure if they are in all the parks but it's a one person go in type. I know where they are in Downtown Disney & Epcot but I can't remember the rest of the parks.

Before your girls go into the bathroom you should look for the exit point of the bathroom & if you have to go yourself..hmm...can you give them a watch & tell them to stay in the stall until x time & then come out/wash their hands & you can be done with your business.

We are a family of 5 & although my youngest is 2, my older 2 can go on most of the rides (my middle child is 4 1/2 & oldest is almost 7). So we are going to have that problem on some rides this trip but I don't think too many. I will make my older 2 ride together & either dh or I will ride alone behind them (I hope).

Good luck & have fun!

I'm not a father, but with two girls I think you would be perfectly fine to let them go into a ladies bathroom by themselves - together, of course. The older one could easily help the younger one.

Most rides will either seat three or the girls can ride together and you can ride behind. Spaceship Earth and The Haunted Mansion are two that come to mind - if your girls are pretty small you can fit three in a "Doom Buggy". I think three can go on Dumbo, in a teacup, etc.

I think you'll work it out and have a wonderful trip!!!!

definitely use the family rest rooms (and go in with them if they'll [your girls] will let you) as well as the handicapped restrooms (there's one by soarin' i know, and i'm sure there are others) that have single entrances... please know that once inside a women's room there are oftentimes more than one exit and it's not always by the entrance and it can get confusing... another option if you are nearby is to use the first aid station or the baby comfort station... i am sure no one will object!

as far as 3 in a ride, definitely let the girls go ahead or behind you if it's a two person ride... the only glitch will be if one girl wants to ride something the other doesn't... not sure how you would handle that unless you allow her to go alone, but that would make me nervous (although you can go thru every que up to loading and wait at the exit)...

i cannot come up w/any other situations that will present a problem... i'm sure you'll all have a great time... ENJOY! :flower:
