Suggestions for Cruise Chat

It was once proposed that we have a special cruise chat ever now and then dedicated to one aspect of the Cruise (ie Castaway Cay, shows, etc) or maybe even a trivia game.

What are your thoughts. What "Special" topic would you like to see in Crusie Chat one night??

But really, as a cruise newbie myself, and, as a great way to bring more people into chat... How about starting out with something like.... "Welcome to all new cruisers... Planning, booking and anticipation!!! All the basics...."

Then, each week, during the current chat, unveil a new teaser for the following weeks topic....

Then the Topic Line on the DISboard would tell the topic, for example - Friday Nite Cruise chat-Favorite Shows, or Beaches, or tropical drinks, or What makes a DCL cruise Magical, etc....

I agree, let's get more people chatting!!!

1. DCL Restaurants. Discussing AP, PC, Tritons/Lumieres, as well as Palo. Menus, atmosphere, early vs. late seating...

2. Embarkation/Debarkation procedures; suggested flight times, proper completion of docs, etc.

3. Budgeting. It seems alot of people are surprised when they hear that on-board tabs can reach $1,000 or more quite easily since cruises are ostensibly "all-inclusive" vacations! Discuss Shutters, drink costs, excursions, spa treatments, tips, etc.

I agree with Beano! Let's talk budgets! The idea of ringing up a $1,000 tab scares me! Not enough to keep me from going, but scares me none the less!

I think it would also be fun to do different nights by route - Eastern one night, Bahama's another night, Western a third.

What to do, what not to do, best places for....swimming, shopping, eating, etc.

I have to agree, great idea Mary!!! And, your specifics too Beano. Many times I have noticed that a couple people on one itenerary, say- the western, will be in chat. So there may be just a little constructive conversation on that given itenerary. But, generally, it is hard to chat about YOUR itenerary if the others are being discussed, or if the discussion is going way off topic. A little focus would be great!!!!
