Heading to BCV in a month - can anyone give me suggestions for specific room requests for a 2-BR villa (dedicated)? What views or locations have you liked?

We've had a lovely parking lot view both times we have had a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV.

I've never had what I would consider a great view at BCV. I never make a request for a view; I only care that I'm on an upper floor.

Remember that the villas were added on after the original resort was built so they don't really have the spectacular views the main hotel may have.

here are some from our 2 bedroom villas, I can't remember if it was dedicated or a lock off. Sorry

I think the room was 537. I don't ask for particular views at the BCV's

Not meaning to high-jack, but I've always wondered if they can guarantee if you will have a dedicated vs lockout?

Yes.

These are both 2BR dedicated views, but I don't have the room number of the first 2. You will never be able to request a room number anyway.

The above pictures are with a zoom lens. The view with the naked eye is quite a bit different.

Our first time at BCV we had the quiet pool view and again the second time but the first time we were closer to the elevator. That will be my request next time.

Here's a site with locations for all the dedicated 2BRs.

We've stayed in 407 which was a location we liked. It was near the elevator, a quiet courtyard view but a relatively central location, not bad for walking to the parking lot, quiet pool, Stormalong Bay and the back pathway to Epcot too. Our view was like the one on the link below but 2 floors higher:

Oh yea, it's zoomed in. But it is what you look at from your balcony, if you choose to zoom in with a camera, video camera or binoculars is up to you. :wizard:

This is zoomed as well, just not as far.

so if I request "Epcot view/Epcot facing, higher floor" , would that be jargon/terminology that would make sense to the DVC member services rep?

It would, but they used to have "EPCOT" view as a request, so few really can get it, they stopped using it. I checked in at 6AM on a Sunday and only 2 people were checking out of 2BR dedicated the whole day, so any requests were irrelevant. I would just ask on check in if theres a chance. If not, the pool view is pretty good IMO.

All the pics I posted above, were rooms we got with "pool view" as the request at 11 months out.

With all due respect I think your post is a bit misleading .. you conveniently leave out the busy road that is the closest "feature" to your balcony. Me personally would opt for the pool view ... there are trees blocking the parking and you have a nice view of the resort. I think others are right, there are now "WOW" view at BCV .. but that is the ONLY thing that isnt great about BCV, it really is our favorite.

First of all, if you happen to go back and read my replies-I didn't even say if this was a good view or not. Don't get me wrong, I think it is, and that is why I posted it since it was requested-but I never said it. And others like yourself may think it's not, and therefore can try to avoid it.

How is it misleading to post a picture that says this is our view from our balcony at BCV zoomed in? :confused3

When the OP asked the following question (the entire point of the thread)?

Heading to BCV in a month - can anyone give me suggestions for specific room requests for a 2-BR villa (dedicated)? What views or locations have you liked?

You must really be special to "opt" for the view you prefer when you check in at BCV. We ask, but never get a choice.

We never even noticed the road below, I've heard that as well. It must be with the lower floors because there are a lot of trees back there, and we never heard any noise at all from it. But that's not what the OP asked-they asked what views we liked. We have had the pool view many times, hence my recommendation for pool view, and the fact I pointed out when we requested pool view-we got these views instead. Like I said on my post-there was no choice in the matter anyway (at least for us), so request all you want-not sure how that is misleading. :confused3

IF WE COULD CHOOSE, which we can't, we would take this upper level EPCOT view every time, and the pool view a very distant second (everything else a distant 3rd). It's much more Disney (seeing SE/Canada/Illuminations) IMO than a swimming pool.

We had a BCV 2BR in August & requested a pool view, but when we checked in the CM said our request was not met. She did keep trying to find us a "better" view, but she said they were totally booked & there was nothing available so we ended up on the first floor right behind Ariel's statue. IMO this is the worst DVC location we've ever had. We never really sat on our patio, because it was sitting right next to a main pathway & people were constantly taking their pictures by the statue. I would've preferred a dumpster view, so at least I could've sat outside with a little privacy. :guilty:

That sounds like the worst spot alright and this is exactly what always happens to us as well. We have been lucky and got what we think are incredible views, but have never had a choice.
