I am looking for recommendations for an epcot area restaurant (out of park). We have ressies for Yacht Club Galley but now I am wondering if this is the best choice (after some so so reviews). We are hoping to eat at B&C that day for lunch, but if that doesn't work out we'll do that for dinner. We are staying at BC and this is our arrival day (just DH and I). Any recommendations? Or should we stick with YCG? JJ

It all depends on what you are looking for. I love the YCG for their food and their service. I also think it is a wonderful value. Now the atmosphere is akin to a Dennys, it is nothing special. So if you're looking for great food, stick with the Galley, if you're looking for a dining experience, look somwhere else.

That's good to know you like the food. I have heard mixed reviews which got me worried. This is our arrival day and we are flying in early, so honestly we don't need fancy, just something good.

You are going to hear mixed reviews about every single restaurant in WDW. I wouldn't put to much stock in them.

I am sure Yacht Club will be a good choice...

A walk around to Boardwalk gives you the Flying Fish which is pretty upscale but wonderful and the Big River Grill which I thought has some of the best dry ribs I have had at Disney...

A walk to the swan and Dolphin gets you high end at Blue Zoo or Shula's...

Enjoy...Ted

On June 19th the DIS podcast reported very favorably on the Yacht Club Galley. I plan to eat there the next time I spend a day at Epcot. Click on their Podcast and listen to their great review.

We've only been to the YC once for breakfast. It was nothing extraordinary, but we were getting ready to head to the airport, so we were in the "travel" mode. How about one of the Boardwalk spots? Spoodles is good, as is the ESPN Club.

Honestly, stick with the Yacht Club Galley. I just posted a favorite review on another post but that's not why I'm suggesting you keep your original plans. Everyone's opinion on a restaurant is going to be different. If you haven't tried it yourself, then you'll never know. I shied away from Teppanyaki for years because "It's just another Beni-hana". We had one of the best lunches there on Thanksgiving day.

Another time, I made reservations for a special meal at the California Grill based on reviews. I knew it was a tad too expensive for my husband's taste but figured the great food and atmosphere would make up for the price. We had what I would call an "OK" meal. Husband doesn't ever want to go back and not just because of the price tag. He just didn't like anything about it and I should have just listened to instinct and not done it at all.

So, chuck the reviews, check the menus, and go with what YOU want.

We like ESPN zone--especially if you want good sandwiches/bar food. Last Sept. they were doing a live football show for the 1st or 2nd game of the NFL pre-season. That was pretty neat!!!

Big River Grille has good food (IMO) and we were able to eat outside right on the Boardwalk and people watch.

We haven't been to Spoodles since they got rid of the breakfast buffett (2002, I think). The menu just seemed too "heavy" for us.

Also keep in mind that Beaches & Cream is EXTREMELY popular, it is an ice cream shop--fairly small in size and fills up quickly!

I agree with the OP's...check out the menus and go where you WANT to go--what appeals to you and your family.

ENJOY!;)
