DH just okayed a spur of the moment trip! I have promised to keep costs down (we have AP's) so I'm getting ready to make ressies at Pop or POR. We want this to be a relaxing trip - usually we're park commandos. While we will be spending some time in the parks, I was thinking this would be a great opportunity to take advantage of some of the other activities Disney offers - however, I don't want to break the bank - that's coming up this summer :smooth:.

I know we'll probably hit the water parks, swim at the resort. Any other economical ideas?

Hi neighbor! You could go hang out on the Boardwalk and go to Jellyrolls. There's always Pleasure Island too.

Actually by having AP's I would think going to the parks would be your most economical thing to do. You already have it paid for.

However, have you tried the carriage rides or the campfire? Also everyone says the Trail's End Buffett is an incredible meal for the price (I believe it's the cheapest buffett at WDW).

When we only go for quick 3 and 4 day trips we always attempt to make it more relaxing. We go to the parks for shorter amounts of time and just do what we want. Rather than feeling pressured to do it all.

I agree that going into the parks would likely be the most economical form of entertainment seeing as though you have those AP's! Maybe do things you don't normally do... see attractions you don't normally take time for... or just browse around in the shops there. If you really want to stay out of the parks during the day, just go in for the evening entertainment... grab a snack and watch Fantasmic or IllumiNations... that would be treat enough in itself for me!
Another fun idea might be to resort hop! Really look around the resorts you've never been to but have fantasized staying at. Find out the best viewing time/locations at AK and try your hand there. Take the monorail and stop at each resort to browse the shops or incorporate it into an afternoon long appetizer & drinks/lunch/dinner/dessert type thing (having one at each... I suggest Kona Cafe at the Poly for dessert tho!)

Here's the link at allearsnet to their overlooked (often free or economical) activities.
