I'm trying to design a DLRP sampler for cross stitch but I'm wondering what motifs would work best. Does anyone have any suggstions for small motifs that they consider best represent DLRP?

I kinda like the logo with the castle and the earful tower, and am planning to digitize it (one day... if I ever have time) so that I can use it on my embroidery machine... But that's only one colour of course...

Castle, Space Mountain, Big Thundermountain, maybe the trains and IASW for Disneyland Park
Earful tower and sorcerer's hat for the Studios

ETA: or a Disney-hotel sampler? Apple for hotel new york, steering wheel (is that the right word) or something nautical for NBC, a tree or so for SL, horseshoe for Cheyenne and sombrero for SF. Mickey himself for DLH? (cfr the Mickey-flowerbed and clock)

I like those ideas. I had thought about making over the hotel symbols from the Disney site itself but those ideas would work too.

Thanks for that. I hadn't realised there was such a site available. I'll give it a look

Does anyone know if there are any small clip art images of SBC that I could use as a template for the castle in my sampler? I've looked everywhere but can't find one

Is this any good ?

That's ideal! I was trying to find something to give me the basic shape to begin with and that's a nice clear outline. Thanks

Okay, land markers.

I have the Castle for Fantasyland, Fort Comstock at the entrance to Frontierland, The Bazaar gateweay for Adventureland.....

I'm stuck on Discoveryland. Any suggestions as to what to use as the 'gateway' for Discoveryland?

What about the the rockets (orbitron) or Space mountain.

I was wondering about those too - particularly Space Mountain, which has got a distinctive, but simple outline.

Otherwise there is this at the entrance to Discoveryland, but it's not very colourful, and so may not look interesting enough.

It's more something distinctive than colourful necessarily. I thought about the big airship - something that marks the entrance to the Land as much as the others. I'm hoping to include the rides anyway but I don't recall seeing anything that marks the entrance to Discoveryland that clearly.

When I think about the entrance to Discoveryland, I think about the lava rocks which have a very distinctive shape. Perhaps an outline of one of those next to the "globe" thing would work?

::yes::

This will look fabulous when it is finished Nikki. I hope you will be able to post a photo of it for us to see. :)

Fingers crossed. I'm just pulling the different images together at the mo so it's in the very early planning stages. I'll try and work out how to post photos so I can show you what I've done.

Okay I'm getting on with this but I'm a bit stuck on 'Honey I shrunk the Audience'. It's not one I've managed to get on when I've been - am I right in thinking there's a huge dog involved somewhere?

I'm also stuck on Pinocchio and Dumbo. I did wonder about Monstero because I have a nice little pattern for a whale although I quite like the idea of doing the Blue Fairy - in two minds.

I'm a little tight on space as it's going so I'm not sure about showing Dumbo in his entireity - any suggstions anyone?

You're right Nikki, there is a big dog in Honey I Shrunk etc. :dogdance:

The whale sounds good but just a suggestion ~ how about Jiminy Cricket if you decide against it? And perhaps you could just do Dumbo's head instead of his whole body or do Timothy the mouse? :)

I do have a couple of small clip arts of Jiminy Cricket and Dumbo both so I might be able to adjust them to suit.
