I've got to get away this Christmas:crazy: Won't bore you with the details, but I lost my DF and MIL through cancer over Xmas in the last 7 years. Last Xmas was a nightmare for me, so we've decided we'll get away this year.

Skiing was on the agenda in the US, but unfortunately I've been told by my consultant that the injury and metalwork in my ankle and leg means it's unlikely I'll ever ski again (devastated doesn't come into it:( ). I'm sorry to say I think I'd be too selfish to go on a ski holiday knowing I couldn't get out on the slopes, but then on the other hand wouldn't want that to stop DH and DD enjoying their first ski trip (much;) ).

So I've been looking at two centre ski hols, and there's one in the Virgin Snow brochure for a week at Stowe followed by a week in Orlando. This we're investigating - but the big draw back would be the weather in late December/early Jan since we're used to glorious May/October trips to Florida.

DH is a sun worshipper, so I've looked at going back to St Lucia, but for the Xmas period the prices more than double:crazy: .

Any suggestions to anywhere else most appreciated - plus any tips as to how the weather would be in Orlando in December (looking at 16-23/12 in Orlando, followed by skiing).

Have to say Annie I wouldn't be banking on hot weather in Orlando in Dec. I did swim in the pool a couple of times in December but on the dates you are talking of I found the temps to be just hot enough for me to lie out in shorts and t-shirt (at a push) but it was a little chilly to actually go into the pool and that's aying something for me as I am a water baby.

Mark's idea of the cruise does sound more attractive and the weather is better :)

Thanks Mark and Sam for the tips.

Having been rather overwhelmed:( by all the responses I've received, I'm still thinking about what to do:rolleyes:

I like the sound of the cruise idea :) All that pampering sure sounds good.

Sorry I haven't got any other idea's when I think holiday it alway's ends up with Disney:teeth:
