Suggestions for a baby in lap/high chair?

Our trip has been so last minute that I've had to book whatever ADRs we could get. We have five in our family. The youngest is our 19 month old. She is teeny though (growth issues), so more like the size of a 9-12 month old. But, I digress.
Finding ADRs for five has seemed impossible. I grabbed several for 4 people. I'm trying daily to add one more, but if I can't, what's the rule on babies in high chairs? Does that count as one person in your party, or no? I'm not going to order her a meal. I will keep her on my lap if it's an issue. I will happily lap hold her all night if it means I can keep my BOG res, lol. I Just don't want to look like I'm trying to buck the system. Will they deny me entrance? (I'm thinking head count for fire code as the only possible hurdle.)

You should have everyone going to the restaurant on the total for your ADRs so in your case 5.

Trying booking for 6 - there always seems to be more choice for even number parties. We are a 3 and have booked 4 to get times and restaurants we wanted. It's easier to turn up with one less than one more as you will have a table for your size party already booked.

I am definitely trying to increase the number. I will try for 6. Just wondering what will happen if I show up at BOG, for example, with a baby and our res says 4.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about BoG, since they don't operate at capacity at dinner. Just be aware that you could be turned away if you show up with more people than you booked for; they will offer to seat four people and you can choose to pay the no-show fee and walk away, or draw straws to see who gets left out.

The baby needs to be on the reservation, even if she doesn't eat or sits in a lap or sling the entire time. If you book for four and show up with five, even if one is a baby, they will change you to a party of five. Hopefully they would be able to acccommodate a party of five, and that is the case most of the time, but there is the outside chance that they cannot.

I know it's never garunteed but I have always had luck adding one or two people when we show up. (Often travel with extended family that thinks it's fun to "suprise" me with an extra sibling/aunt/etc)

And on more than one occasion I've seen a group show up with a baby that wasn't on the ressie and have never seen one turned away because of it. Actually one time no one even noticed the extra baby apparently until they were at the table (right next to us). The hostess was scrambling a little as there was no room for a high chair, so they just agreed to hold her, and everyone was fine with that.
