DH & I are taking my MIL to WDW in October for her 60th Birthday. (She has never been to WDW). We want to take her to a fun (but not too loud) place for dinner that will "fuss" over her a little. She is a very meat and potatoes kind of girl, wouldn't like anything very "exotic" or different. Anyone have any good recommendations? I thought about maybe Artist's Point at WL but would welcome any thoughts. Thanks!

Le Cellier at Epcot my favorite meat and potato place and if you let them know it is special night and things will be great without going overboard.::yes:: :wave2:

California Grill? The view is nice, and they can minimize the fru-fru nature of the cuisine:earsboy:

I took my 80 year old father to WDW in February. He's a meat & potato man and his favorite restaurant was Yachtman Steakhouse.

We always do better with my in-laws (they'd starve before trying anything they haven't eaten weekly for the last 60 years!!) at the buffets....

Chef Mickeys is too loud for them, but Cape May works pretty well (we took them several nice places last fall and they would spend the whole meal talking about what great places Cracker Barrell and Golden Corral were!!). Cape May was I think their favorite place.

Another real meat and potatoes place that she might get a kick out of is the Prime Time Cafe...she will remember all the shows and gadgets well, the menu is right up her alley and if you go for an early dinner (or late lunch) it isn't too busy or noisy.

Lets see here....... Ummm... I'd try Yachtman Steak house, or California Grill. (I agree with what the other people say) California Grill is a very peaceful place, and not too many four years olds are running around screaming, unless their parents want to pay $34 for a childrens meal. lol::MickeyMo

DW and I are 60ish. I would suggest looking into 'Ohanas for dinner. Make a PS and ask for a window table for a good view of the fireworks at MK.(check time for fireworks) All of the turkey, shrimp, beef and pork you care to eat.
