We will be visiting from Aug 11th to Aug 15th. There are 5 in our party. Two adults and three kids. (5, 14 and 17)

Tues night--considering Bob Marley, Bubba Gump (we've eaten here before and enjoyed it) and NBA City.

Wed--Universal Studios
I plan on purchasing the "all you can eat" dining option this day.
Advice on that option would be greatly appreciated.
Breakfast--quick breakfast in room. I plan on taking Pop Tarts and
Nutri-grains as we aren't big breakfast eaters.
Lunch--Louie's Italian Restaurant
Dinner--Mel's Drive-In

Thurs--IOA
Breakfast--Character Breakfast at IOA scheduled
Lunch--nothing scheduled since we will have breakfast that day
Dinner--Thunder Falls Terrace

Friday--
Lunch--Mythos or Tchoup Chop
Dinner--Pastamore @ Citywalk

Sat--quick breakfast at resort or airport before flying out of Orlando

I would like suggestions or advice for the restaurants we've chosen.

Also, what are the serving portions like? I'm thinking of sharing my meals with my 5y/o since he tends to be a picky, picky eater. If she doesn't like the food, I can always pick up a hot dog or burger for him at a quick service restaurant. What do you guys think?

TIA!

Louie's and Thunder Falls Terrace are my two favorite restaurants and you can't go wrong with either place. Try the chicken wrap at TFT...it's delicious and the portion sizes are enough for you to share with a child w/o either going hungry!

I've found Mel's to be hit and miss with their burgers. Sometimes they are very good but other times dry and tasteless.

If your son doesn't like the choices, you can head to Comic Strip Cafe or The Burger Digs at IOA and Richter's or the Midway Grill for hot dogs...which are huge!

One night at the Studios, you might want to try Finnegan's. It's a table service restaurant with a pub type atmosphere. There are plenty of Finnegan's fans on the DIS!

I don't like Mel's at all.
I love both Mythos and Tchoup Chop, but for lunch would choose Mythos. Tchoup Chop's lunch can not compare to their dinner. Mythos menu is the same for either.

We really enjoyed NASCAR Sports Grille and NBA City when we were there and leaving the park. We liked the character breakfast at Confisco Grille, not great but good. The Enchanted Oak Tavern and Comic Strip Cafe were nice places to eat during the day for lunch.
Planning on making a stop at these places when we go back in November.
Counting down the days. :woohoo:

Swap Tchoup Chop for Mel's. Mel's is fine for a quick lunch of average burgers...but this is your vacation...treat yourself to an amazing table service and great food. (My kids, 12, 10, loved it, too.) Take the boat from City Walk to add to the experience.

we all have a different experience at some of the places you mentioned.

i have tried Mel's 5 times and will never return there.
the food seemed reheated and the tables/floors weren't wiped down/swept as guests came and went.

i enjoy Blondie's at IOA also.
deli made sandwiches as you order them.
you can create anything you want there.

i hope you enjoy Louie's as much as many of us do.
you can't go wrong with the pizza/salad combo or the sandwiches there.
