Suggestions/Advice Wanted

Hello all! I am currently booked (along with my parents) to do a 11 day stay next December in an Art of Animation suite. I'm starting to have second thoughts for 2017 due to Hollywood Studios being under major construction as well as some other changes. I'm thinking of waiting until December of 2018 for at least some of the construction to be done and to possibly save more money to do a deluxe resort. I'm looking for some advice and suggestions on what I should be thinking about. Thanks to all!

DHS construction will not be completely done by then. If anything is done, it will by Toy Story Land, and that's still a bit of an "if". Star Wars Experience will definitely NOT be done. There's alway something new being built, so waiting for it can really postpone your trip indefinitely. Pandora will open next summer, so you would be there for that. Also, the further out your vacation, the more expensive everything gets. Hotel, ticket, and dining prices will be more in 2018 than 2017. So, be sure to budget for that. Depending upon how much you save, it still may not get you much more.

It really is a totally personal decision. We all have opinions on our vacations, which really have no bearing on yours. What do you want to do?
We are DVC owners. We love Disney. We go every year. I wouldn't skip a year if I can avoid it.
That has no bearing on your decision.
But as PP stated: There will always be construction. Things get more and more expensive.

I don't know how old your parents are, but to me, that would be a consideration. It's just my humble opinion, but I've found it important not to put off doing cool things with those I love.

Like others have said, in the end it's your money and decision, but I wouldn't let the construction change my trip. Big destinations like WDW are "living things" in some constant state of change. I would take the opportunity to see the change in action and enjoy what is new. Either way, I hope your trip is a wonderful experience for everyone!
