Suggestion (YMMV) - Use code without pin

Are we talking about the 40% off code? Wow, as soon as we booked ours within 2 days we paid the balances in full, I don't really see how Disney could go back on this deal since I paid in full..I understand according to their webpage it states UNTIL PAID IN FULL, well mine is, so I would hope it stays that way!!

It says until paid in full your rates are subject to change. After that, the only way they can change is through a government levy or something.

I'm not worried.

in the terms and conditions I'm reading online it says until your reservation is paid in full they can change the rates. After it is paid in full then you've got that rate.

"All rates are subject to change until package is paid in full. After package is paid in full, rate is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities. All rates are in U.S. dollars."

So pay in full asap and you should be set! They may go through and pick out ones that haven't been paid for and change thoses ones out.

Again this is the rule ONLY for packages. The laws differ for room only reservations. With a room only reservation, your rate is locked in unless you modify the ressie.Once you modify it in any way they are allowed to change it.
Furthermore, for all the worriers, Disney can't require you to bring the actual postcard unless its stated in the terms on your reservaion. The laws on room only reservations clearly state that all terms and requirements must be disclosed to the consumer on the confirmation sheet. So if no one contacts you about your reservation and it doesnt say you need it on your confirmation youre fine.

Just one more reason why i never book packages... the laws on packages clearly are in place to protect Disney, whereas the laws on room reservations favor the consumer.

I want everyone to be able to keep thier discounts as much as anyone.

However, paying in full, talking to a CM or ever supervisor is not going to stop them from cancelling the rate if the powers that be decide to. The CMs answering the phone and even the supervisors in Guest Services do not have that power. The person or persons that do, will not be the ones you get to talk to.

Sammie.. you are sooo correct. Even paying in full cannot stop them. I was paid in full with the computer glitch & mine was changed.. they did use the reason being "taxes not calculated correctly".. even though we all knew that was not the case. I sort of thing this mess can be a computer glitch too. The computers should be programmed not to accept the code without the pin, yet some computers are letting it thru, I personally do not think it is the CM on the phone. A flag should come up when that code is entered... and it isn't. You seem to know Disney the way I do, think about it.. it makes perfect sence

While everyone's ressie may say that the rate cannot be changed, Disney does mean the correct actual rate cannot go up in PRICE. It doesnt' mean that they cannot correct an error. If this code mix up does turn out to be an error, Disney can & will correct it if they want to. There is nothing you can say or do to them to change their minds. If you book at a published rate, ie: AP rate on a value during peak is currently $79, Disney cannot turn around at check in and say..gee we increased the price of this room. They can however turn around and say that you do not qualify for this rate, it was given to you in error. This is not a department store where they have to give it to you.. many department stores are no longer doing it either. They will tell you at the check out.. it is $$$ do you still want it.. do you see what I am saying?????? YES, they can take that rate away from you. Don't be fooled by wording on that ressie..

That only applies to packages and not room only reservations. For room only it says they cannot change the quoated rate unless I modify the reservation. I am not calling Disney because I feel they are going to let these discounts go through. If not, then at check in I will just have to pay rackrate which is what I usually do at the Poly anyway. No big deal.

We've been over and over this folks.

Nobody here knows what Disney will or will not do.

This never-ending speculation is pointless. It just riles people up and accomplishes NOTHING.

Let's wait till we hear from someone who's reservation was affected. So far... nothing. Let's stop the speculation and endless going around the same stuff..

Thanks,

John

I am actually getting work done this morning without having to read up on constant flow of messages on multiple threads. Maybe I'll even visit other forums on DIS now .... :)

:confused3 I am a little confused but mostly jealous we didn't receive a discount postcard!:sad1:

i'm so confused... by codes and pins and quotes from posts that are not posted... someone help me!!

i'm helping a friend and her mom plan a trip staying onsite for the first time ever around thanksgiving '07... what's the code deal and how do i help them cash in on it? what dates and resorts is it good for (they want to stay at CBR)?

also, why is there a quote in someone's post from triplefigs when there's no post from that poster? have posts in this thread been deleted?
