After some of the comments I made in the 9/26 host sightings thread, it occurred to me that I would like to submit an idea for the VMK Home Page/Newsletter. So what's on my mind, you ask?
VMK MythBusters! (ok, since MythBusters is probably copyrighted, I'd change it to: VMK Myth or Truth?)
There are so many misconceptions in VMK, and players who are not informed will continue to pass it along. Let me start with my own examples.
Myth:
Do leaders get free stuff?
Truth:
No. Community Leaders get the CL_ title change and the Sorcerer Mickey badge in their signatures so players can identify them better. They don't get anything "free" when VMK chooses them to be Leaders.
Myth:
A player told me a certain piece of furniture or a costume is coming out soon.
Truth:
Players cannot know what items VMK will be released unless it's reported in the VMK Home Page/Newsletter. If a player insists it will be released and it's not announced at VMK.com, it's not true. Hosts and other VMK Staff do not know the information ahead of time, either.
Well...that's what I have for a start. I wasn't going to submit these answers because I don't think Contact Us has that much room. But I would like hot topics of misinformation being spread around if at all possible, so I can hopefully get them to address this in the Newsletter.
