I have an ADR for 'Ohana that I'm second-guessing and need a replacement for it. I made it for our arrival night, but I'm not sure that's such a great idea because part of our group will be flying in and haven't made plane reservations yet. Also, I'm afraid that after a day of traveling, the kids in the group (4, 5, 8) will not want to sit still for a lengthy TS meal. Here's what I have so far. The dates start 5/21. 3 adults, 3 kids.

Saturday - arrive

Sunday - MK. Crystal Palace character dinner

Monday - DHS. 50's Prime Time dinner

Tuesday - AK. Tusker House character breakfast. Adults will probably go to Big River Grille (OOP) for dinner while kids are at Kids' Club.

Wednesday - EP. Tutto Italia dinner

Thursday - possibly a water park. Whispering Canyon dinner

Friday - MK for some, DHS for Star Wars Weekend for others. Chef Mickey's character dinner

Saturday - depart

All our dinners are early, between 5:00-6:00, so a big lunch is probably not an option. Not opposed to doing another character breakfast, but all the kids are boys, so no princesses, and my oldest did not care for 'Ohana breakfast.

Feel free to make suggestions and move stuff around! :wizard:

Thanks! :goodvibes

Cape May Cafe has a fun character breakfast, the characters wear beach attire.

Another option would be to move one of the dinners to a little later (6:30-7:30PM if that is feasible) and add an early lunch that day 11:30AM or so. Coral Reef is a fun retauarant for lunch, its our favorite lunch at Epcot. The kids love the fish tanks and like watching for the different fish to swim by while they eat. There are non-seafood options.

Not sure when you plan to arrive on arrival day but I found that we just were not in the mood for a restaurant meal even when it was at the hotel we were staying. We were too excited going around the grounds and exploring and hopping in the pool to want to sit down and eat properly( and we were 26) so with kids it might even be harder.

Also we arrived later than scheduled due to our flight being delayed so it felt like we would have literally had to drop off our bags and go straight to dinner.

I would suggest skipping a TS and just having some fun and picking up a counter service meal wherever you end up!

Where are you staying? The day we arrive we are usually full of kinetic energy and want to start right away. We grab something at our resort counter service and then play it by ear.

The bolded is exactly why I'm thinking of cancelling the 'Ohana reservation for the arrival day. We'll be driving, but my cousin and her son are flying, and it will be her son's first trip to the World, so probably will be very excited. My kids will be excited, but they've been a lot.

We're staying at CSR. I know we could do Pepper Market as we've had good meals there in previous stays. We could also go to DTD for T-Rex or something. I'm not too concerned about the first-night meal, I just don't want to be tied down to an ADR for it. What I am really trying to figure out is when to plan another TS meal Sun-Fri and where to have it. :cool2:

I know it's a CS, but if you are thinking about DTD, try Wolfgang Puck Express at Marketplace. Even though it's a Counter Service, the only counter you see is when you order! They give you a number sign for your table and someone brings your food. Someone will also come by and refill your drinks. The pizzas are devine, the spaghetti and meatballs are wonderfull too. I got a 1/2 roasted chicken with rosemary mashed potatoes and there is no way I could've finished it by myself. WITH CREME BRULEE FOR DESSERT! AT A COUNTER SERVICE! It's wonderful!

But if you want to go TS for sure, we tried Grand Floridian Cafe last week and it was marvelous! And it's on the monorail, just like O'Hana's, so you wouldn't have to change too much of your plan!

It may be difficult for your arrival day but we always start on vacation on arrival day with dinner at HDDR. For boys, it would be great, western theme with a bunch of corny jokes and song but it is delightfully entertaining.

Here's to another vote for HDDR. We loved it and I am so excited to be taking my grandsons 9 & 11 in May. This is a #1 stop for us.

I agree with HDDR. You can change out on of your other TS during the week and use 2 TS credits for it. It's a must see and fun for all!
