Suggestion for Cancun

The only places I'd exchange DVC points for Cancun would be the Royals (Sands, Islander, Caribbean or Mayan). The Mayan would be my least likely simply because some of the units are lacking on views and those are the more likely ones traded. Search at least a year out (preferably two), especially if you want anything between Xmas and Easter. Do not request a studio there, they do not have even a mini kitchen. You will only be able to search for a 1 BR for 4 and a 2 BR for 6 though I think the 2 BR units will actually sleep 8.

Try for a direct exchange though TUG or other venus where you can guarantee the unit you are getting. Consider a few other resorts on direct exchange but for less points than through II. Considering renting the unit and renting out your points, especially if it's not peak season you want.

Sounds like I'll be renting my DVC points and using the proceeds for a hotel/rental instead. I've done that a few times before.

we stayed 10 days at the mayan palace in the riveria maya and i will tell you the place was awesome.........that was two yrs ago and we have been talking about going back because we liked it so much. Look into it.......we got a two bedroom suite and we thought it was one of the nicest places we had ever stayed in mexico.
