Suggestion for absolute cheapest hotel near Universal

I wondered if anyone could tell me the cheapest hotel within walking distance of Universal (preferably off kirkman)

My sons both work at Universal and our car is in the shop until Wednesday. A cab from our house costs around $40 and also aren't very reliable (often late picking you up) and the city busses are even less relaible, so we thought we might could find a cheap motel for 3 nights for them.

Hi Bev, sorry I can't give you any specific names but try going onto hotelkingdom.com & see what they have. You will hve to read thru everything. I think there is a microtel somewhere close to there that will even give them some cooking utilities. I have never stayed there but thought about it. Hope this helps you.... also it may be cheaper to rent a car???

I got the Sheraton Studio City through priceline at $45/night. You can probably get it for $40-43 but priceline doesn't guarantee hotels but you should be able to score a night around that price.
