We are arriving to the Orlando airport at 12:05am on a Friday. Our resort reservation isn't until Saturday. What can we do. We have 2 adults and 4 kids who are going to be tired. I see the airport has a hotel for $200 a night (if they will allow us all to cram into 1 room). I assume we will have to get our luggage if we are not taking ME until the next day. Will ME pick up our luggage anyway if we have the yellow tags and deliver it later when we do have a room.

Anyone have any sleeping options for us. I don't think we can sleep in the airport chairs.

I don't know about ME, personally I'd just pick up my bags instead of worrying about them until the next afternoon and hoping they arrive. You can also book a night at a nearby airport hotel with a free shuttle and then just ride it back in the morning to take ME. Or book another night at a disney value resort. There's no way I'd not have a room for the night somewhere.

Why would you be arriving at such an odd time? You need to book another night at your resort or stay in a nearby hotel in 2 rooms that will accomadate your family. Free bfast and shuttle back to the airport the next afternoon would also be nice.

We are arriving around the same time on a Wednesday early AM. My suggestion is to book another night at your Disney hotel and take the ME when you arrive. Or, book a hotel near the airport with a shuttle. But, I would prefer to just get to where I am going and settle in...

ETA = wait - are you arriving at 1205 Saturday Am or 1205 Friday AM?

I would add a night at my Disney resort. We had a late arrival, 9 PM, and we just arrived very late to our resort.

Time is money at Disney, and to be able to get up and just go to a park instead of screwing around with luggage, shuttles, magic expresses, etc. Totally worth it to wake up in the place you're staying all week.

I would book an additional night at your resort. I just wanted to add that a few years ago our flight was significantly delayed. We were supposed to arrive around 6 pm, but didn't arrive until around midnight. While they Disney did provide ME to the resort, we had to handle our own luggage. At that time, there was a cut off for when they would handle your luggage, I want to say it was around 10pm. That may still be the case now.

Where are you staying Friday night if your reservation at Disney isn't until Saturday? I'd book two nights at where you are staying Friday. Your kids will likely be so tired and you won't enjoy Friday at all if you don't get at least a little sleep that night.

I meant to say we are arriving Sat at 12:05am. We got a great deal on a flight since we wanted direct and most of the flights were getting in Sat very late. We though this way we can have a day at the resort Sat so we are ready for the parks on Sun. Otherwise we would be too tired getting in very late Sat to enjoy MK for Sunday. We are staying at AOA and booking another night is expensive. I think we will find a cheap hotel near the airport to sleep in and then get the shuttle back to the airport and take ME when we wake up.

I would love for ME to pick up our luggage and bring it to our resort, I'm wondering it that is asking for problems. Technically it is the day we have reservations (Sat). I assume that with the yellow tags the luggage is grabbed and brough to the resort anyway. Then held until the rooms are ready just like if we arrived at 8am and our room wasn't ready until 3pm.

What are your opinions. Remember we have luggage for 6 people. It is not worth the risk? We could pack a carry on for our overnight needs.

You can't yellow tag bags for arrivals after 10 pm. Disney won't get them. The luggage delivery service part of DME does not run between 10 pm and 5 am. Why not book a suite at the All Stars to save a little cash? Pack everything you need for the first night in your carry-on. You will still need to get your bags and take them to the bus, but Disney will move them to AoA for you the next day.

If it were me, I'd call Disney...or your travel agent (whoever you booked with) and ask them if you can have ME take your bags at that time. I am pretty sure ME won't take bags during certain times at night and you don't want your bags sitting there waiting for ME. IF they can take them at that time of the night I would not hesitate letting them take the bags, getting a cheap room and heading to your resort when you wake up in the morning (just remember to pack everything you will need Saturday in your carry ons).
If they won't take bags until a certain time, unfortunately while it would definitely be very inconvenient I would grab your bags before leaving the airport. Better than risking them being taken or lost.

Just looked it up
Luggage Delivery Service
This feature of Disney’s Magical Express is available for flights arriving between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM daily. Your luggage will travel separately, and it may take up to 3 hours after you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel for your luggage to be delivered to your room. Please pack any valuables, medications or anything you need immediately upon your arrival in Orlando in a carry-on bag—and have your MagicBand with you and easily accessible at the airport and when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel. You do not need to be in your room to receive your luggage.

If your flight arrives before 5:00 AM or after 10:00 PM, please collect your luggage at baggage claim to bring with you on the motorcoach. Please note: Disney’s Magical Express service does not provide luggage-only transfer. You must be present on the motorcoach to have your luggage transported to a Disney Resort hotel.
