Good morning,

What’s your suggested route to get to Pandora at rope drop? We’re going on an extended family trip at the end of July. We have FOP fastpasses. The plan is to arrive at AK 30-40 minutes before rope drop, ride N’avi and then FOP. I’m envisioning this as the TSM running of the bulls, but worse. My family will be ok because we’re used to it. However, it’s my brother’s family’s first trip and I’d like to make this process as comfortable as I can. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, there's only one route to Pandora at rope drop, so you don't have much choice.

However, since you're not trying to get to FoP, you can definitely hang back a bit and let the majority of the masses travel on. You'll want to be on the left side of the crowd and once you get across the bridge, head left to Na'vi.

You can avoid the masses of people heading to FOP if you hang back and stroll in closer to park opening time. We got to Navi right around park open and were able to ride twice with no wait in March.

When I was there at the end of January, they had cast members walking the crowd from the entrance to Pandora, so even if there were multiple ways to get there, I don't think the cast members would allow it. Even if the process changed, though, only one way to Pandora. Good news is you're trying to get to Navi, so you can take a much more relaxed walk over to Pandora and veer off towards the left. Much less crowded and you should be able to get on Navi with little wait.

Even thou you have fast passes for fop
I would head there first regular line. Than go to the river ride than use your fast passes for fop.

If you arrive at the park about 30 minutes before the official opening time you will be well back into the pack waiting for Pandora. I believe they are still opening the tapstiles early and then holding the crowd headed towards Pandora at a rope just past Tiffins. If you arrive about 30 minutes before official park opening the tapstiles will probably already be open. This will reduce the press of the crowd heading through the Oasis. And since you are not in a hurry just walk off to the side out of the way of the "rushers". When they drop the rope to Pandora CM's will walk the crowd towards FoP. If you are headed towards Navi River you will stay to the left when the crowd veers off to the right towards FoP. You will have a short to no wait for Navi River.
wishing you a pixiedust: visit!
