We'll be in LA three weeks tomorrow, and we need to get our itinerary sorted. Basically, we fly into LAX on the Tuesday, then fly back out of LAX the following Tuesday, so we've got 6 days in the middle to use in LA. We want to do atleast one day at DL, possibly two so we can do DL and DCA. We also want one day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and one day at Universal. Also, we'd quite like to go to the 'Concours on Rodeo' car show on the Sunday.
My idea for an itinerary is
Wednesday - DL
Thursday - Magic Mountain
Friday - Universal
Saturday - Hollywood/Beverly Hills etc sightseeing
Sunday - 'Concours on Rodeo' in the morning, then the beach (Santa Monica maybe) in the afternoon
Monday - DL/DCA
We land at about 3:30pm on the Tuesday, so won't want to do much that day, and we leave in the morning the following Tuesday, so there won't be much time to do stuff that day either.
What do you guys think of that itinerary? Any suggestions of a better one? Its my first time in LA so I don't really want to drive to Magic Mountain on our first day, and I'd prefer to hit Magic Mountain on a 'quiet day' so the queues are short, as my wife won't be going on any of the coasters, so I'd prefer to keep wait times down to a minimum. We'll also do a bit of shopping on some of the days when we find the time.
