We are going to be in WDW Jan 11-18 and need to start thinking about meals. THere will be 13 of us!! 8 adults, 9yr old, 4 yr old, 2-3yr old, 18 mos. We are staying at BWV. Can you suggest meal ideas at each park? I thought it would be nice to coordinate meals with the parks that we will visit.

Cinderella's and the Princess are of course on my list!!!!!

Thanks!

Here are my favorites.
MK: Breakfast: Cinderella's Royal Table (Princess
character meal), Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends
character meal)
Lunch or Dinner: Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends),Tony's Town Square on Main Street,Cinderella's Royal Table (no characters at
Cindy's for lunch or dinner)

EPCOT: Lunch or Dinner: San Angel Inn (Mexico)

MGM: Breakfast: Hollywood and Vine (Minnie and friends character meal)
Lunch or Dinner: 50's Prime Time Cafe

AK: The only restaurant that I have tried is Pizzafari (counter service). They have a very good individual vegetable pizza.

Happy Dining!

We love Donald's. It is one of the best chances you get to see Donald and the food is good. It's a fun place to start your day in Animal Kingdom.

I am ashamed to admit that I pick the park we are going to be at around the meals we plan! I am sure most people do it the other way around. Some of our favs follow:

MK
We love having lunch or dinner at Peco Bills. They have the greatest fixings bar with grilled onions, mushrooms, cheese sauce for your fries and other goodies. The prices are reasonable and although its counterservice, there are plenty of inside, air conditioned seating.

MGM
We enjoyed a meal at the Sci Fi Drive In restaurant but more for the atmosphere than the food, I admit. You can sit in "parked cars" like you are at the drive-in and watch clips of old horror movies.

Epcot
You can't beat getting an order of fish and chips from the UK pavilion and finding a cozy bench to relax and eat. Of course, you can try to get a ps at Rose and Crown (in time for Illuminations would be nice but they won't guarantee you outside seating so that would be taking a chance).

We haven't eaten at AK but I would love to try the Rainforest Cafe there. DH says the RC restaurants look too "cheesy" to him and he refuses to eat there everytime I ask but I'm determined we'll have one meal there sooner or later.

You say you're staying at BWV (I'm a DVC member - home resort at Hilton Head) and I know you will love the spacious accommodations. You will be in such a good location to try different restaurants. We love the ESPN restaurant, Gullivers at the Swan, Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club and breakfast at the Yacht Club Galley.

These are just some of my family's favs. Also, we're giving a few new places a try this trip: Norway Princess Breakfast, 50's Prime Time Cafe and the one I'm really looking forward to 'Ohanas. (Now I'm really really hungry). :p

Have a great trip!

At AK I like Tusker's for breakfast (I had a dreadful experience at the RFC there and have learned to never eat there again)!

EPCOT's World Showcase: Just pick which ever restaurant/cuisine appeals to you! There are generally two restaurants per country, one full service or buffet and one counter service. The US has only one, a counter service and Japan has three!

MGM Studios: Mama Melrose's and 50's Prime Time are really quite popular places to eat!

MK you've already decided!

There, wasn't that easy? ;) ;)

we have a 3 & five year old and here are a few of our favorits from our 2 week trip ...we just returned monday

Magic Kingdom
cinderella's royal table breakfast
Tony's (we think this is just ok but have heard lots of others really enjoy it (we are itailian though so we are real picky about our itailian food)
crystal palace is under rehab but we enjoyed breakfast here in the past.

just a monerale ride away from the magic kingdom:

check mickeys @ the Contemporary (we like both breakfast and dinner equally here)

California Grill: more upscale but worth every penny....great view if you time it right with the fireworks and request a magic kingdom view.....always had great food and service here...waiters on 2 different occaisions even made a nice bed out of chairs and tableclothes at our table for our son who fell asleep during dinner so we could enjoy the rest of the evening while he slept. my daughter also enjoyed having her own "sushi'" like the grown ups (hers was rice crispy treats made to look like sushi complete with gummy fish)

kona cafe @ the Poly

OHANA @ Poly: a new favorite (excellent service, view, food(served family style) and fun games for the kids)

narcoossees @ grand floridian (complete with water pagent and fireworks if you time it write for a nice relaxing meal after a long day at the magic kingdom)

EPCOT:
so many great choices here!!!!!

Coral Reef for lunch this trip was a favorite..we had a table by the tank and the diver entertained us during lunch

San Angel Inn (mexico): table by the water (always a favorite..great food and atmosphere) the counter service with seating by the lake is a nice place to relax for a quick bite too

Marrakesh (bellie dancer in sit down is great entertainment and the food is excellent)...they have a good counter service area too.

Gardin Grill (character lunch, dinner and icecream social)...this trip we did the icecream social and had great character interaction and great icecream!!!!!

Biergarten: we enjoy german food and the kids love the entertainment here but if you go at a busy time you will share a table with others.

Sunshine food fair (best variety of fast food)

Princess storybook breakfast in Norway (cinderell does not usually appear here as she has to tend to her castle)

Chefs de France: we always go for wine and escargot.

La Cellar: didn't make it here this trip but in the past enjoyed the cheese soup and pretzel bread....not my favorite place for a steak though.

On/near Boardwalk:
Flying Fish
ESPN
Beaches and Cream (a short walk over to the beach club)

MGM:
Brown Derby (a favorite and they make a cobb salid the correct way!) also part of the fantasmic package

Hollywood and vine (minnie and goofy in their finest.....good food selection for breakfast and lunch)

Animal Kingdom
Rainforest Cafe
Tusker House (great wraps and chicken....also nice patio seating and resonalble prices)
The animal kingdom is also the only park with frozen chocolate covered bananna's

Turkey legs in all the parks are a great lunch too.....

Downtown Disney: we always enjoy wolfgang pucks patio seating (disney west side)

I am sure you will receive lots of other suggestions but these tend to be our favorites

I almost forgot about the Sci Fi @ MGM.....We have always had great burgers, shakes and onion rings here!!!!!! and sitting in the cars watching the old black and white monster/sci-fi flickes are great....even my parents and our 3 & 5 year old love this place...we go every trip...

and mickey icecream and popcorn in the buckets are also fun lunches when you are on vacation!!!

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. I am planning this trip for extended family. I haven't been to wdw in 15yrs!! Some in group have gone for a day or two in past few years. I have gotten lots of help from all of you and other friends and family.

I will continue to gather more info. If you think of any other tips, please let me know.

Thanks!!

If all 13 of you intend to eat together here are my suggestions.

MK: LTT dinner, great character interaction, all you can eat table service, ability to satisfy picky eaters.

Epcot: Les Chefs de France, good food, a bit pricey, has a back area that would be perfect for large parties.

MGM: 50's Primetime, a lot of fun for the whole group.

AK: Skip the park head to AKL and Boma after park closing.

I think these would work best for a party your size.

MK ... Late breakfast at Crystal palace at CRT

Lunch .... Peco's Bills during the parade
Dinner ... back to Peco Bills durign the parade

AK ... Late breakfast at Donalds
Snack for lunch
Dinner at Boma's (AKL)

Epcot ...
Lunch ... Marrakesh
Dinner ... Biergarten

MGM ...

Lunch H&V or PTC
Dinner Mama Melrose

The best character meal we've had was at Garden Grille in Epcot. Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale come around several times for lots of one on one time. Fish and Chips and a Bass ale can't be beat in World Showcase. Although, for a sit down meal our fave is Le Cellier. Burgers at Pecos Bill in MK are good and the cinnamon rolls at Tusker House in AK for breakfast are to die for!

Even though I'm only 17 I have been the restaurant planner in my family for Disney vacations since I was 14 and I have very rarely picked a "decent" restaurant, most have been GREAT :) So here are my fav restaurants

MK -
FAST FOOD
Lunch
COLUMBIA HARBOR HOUSE it's located in Liberty Square and has a very nice atmosphere, very nautical. There are all sorts of little rooms with knick knacks and it is nice and cool. They have great chicken strips, clam chowder in a bread bowls, fried fish sticks, and salads and sandwiches.

SIT DOWN
Breakfast
CRYSTAL PALACE (but it's closed at the moment) It is located at the end of main street to the left if you are facing the castle. It is a very airy and light atmosphered restaurant and the selection at this breakfast buffet was to die for!! It is a character breakfast with Pooh and friends.

Lunch/ Dinner
TONY'S TOWN SQUARE
Located just to the right after you pass under the railway station at the enterance to MK. This restaurant was a very nice surprose, very simple italian food and a cute atmophere from Lady and the Tramp.

EPCOT

FAST FOOD
Lunch or Dinner
SUNSHINE SEASON FOOD FAIR, located in The Land, this place has amazing selection and the food is great

Snacks
CANTINA DE SAN ANGEL, located outside the Mexican pavillian, the churros, deep friend sticks of dounut like dough rolled in cinnammon and sugar yummy!!

SIT DOWN
CHEFS DE FRANCE, located in the French pavallion, very expensive but in my opinion well worth the cost, it has the BEST french onion soup I've ever tasted, The filet migion was wonderful as was the potato gratin. It is one of our most luxurious meal every trip

MGM

FAST FOOD
Lunch
ABC COMMISARY, located to the left of the Chinese Theater if you are facing it, this restaurant had good food and a cute atmosphere, you could watch clips of all different ABC shows. Very nice place to take a break

SIT DOWN
50's PRIMETIME CAFE, your kids will LOVE it, it's a kick to see the parents get told to "chew with your mouth closed" and "keep your elbows off the table" The food is good and the atmosphere is once again very cute. They show clips of shows like I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver

HOLLYWOOD BROWN DERBY, again a very expensive restaurant but well worth it, you feel like a moviestar in this restaurant. It had sentimental value for me because I LOVE the I love Lucy episode where she eats at the true Brown Derby. But the food was to die for

AK

FAST FOOD
FLAME TREE BBQ, yummy! Quick and easy BBQ food with the most secluded and amazing seating area, to the left of the counter service area is a path just keep following it and it will take you to a place with fountains and trees by the river. I felt like I was swept off to a jungle in Thailand for lunch it was amazing!

Hope this helped you out, if you'd like more suggestions feel free to PM me :)
