Suggest a good Dublin hotel for us!

Hi all,

We are travelling to Dublin for two nights before going on to Paris and could really use some suggestions for a decent hotel in Dublin itself. We will have my 14 year old son with us, so need somewhere that's 'family friendly'.

Any suggestions?

Susan, on both occasions I've been to Dublin it's been "cheap and cheerful". Most recently we visited earlier this year to see Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band and stayed at Wynn's Hotel. We managed to book it using Airmiles. It's nowhere near as grand as the website suggests, but it isn't awful either, and it's well situated for all the sights.

What are your dates? Jurys Custom House appears to have some great deals on a triple room (one double, one single).

I'm just a country bumpkin so don't really know much about hotels in Dublin but here are a few that might be OK

If you don't mind staying out of the city we stayed at the Clarion Liffey Valley which is a couple of miles from the airport next to a shopping centre (with resturants and cinema). The hotel was nice and it had a swimming pool.

Hi Cleo, on the last two visits we have stayed at the jurys inn christchurch.Tipical jurys hotel, but very well situiated too the centre of dublin,and about 2 mins from temple bar ,hope this helps and have a good trip

Another suggestion is www.bewleyshotels.com. We always stay in the airport one if we are flying out in the morning.

The ballsbridge one is in a great location within walking distance of town. ( Not as close as Jury's christchurch which is in town)

The good news is there is loads of choice and therfore you can always get a good deal.
