I am relatively new to the GF scene ... usually stay at the Polynesian but have lately been trying-on the GF to see if it sticks ...

Just wondering if there really is a big difference between Sugarloaf and RPC ... thinking of adding two nights to our December trip to try it out and don't know which to book.

Have stayed Sugarloaf already and enjoyed it ... but not sure if RPC is worth the extra money just for two nights. We are staying Polynesian LVC for 8 nights afterwards and are just checking out the GF because we like trying new things at WDW.

Thanks.

Hey if your really in the mood for a change......... Try the ALL STAR RESORTS and see how the other half lives. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the sarcasm ... but hopefully someone out there can actually respond to my question

Check out the GF FAQ thread. Janet just did some investigating at SL with the new food and posted pics. She also did a ton of pics of RPC. the general consensus seems to be that the lounge in the RPC is bigger/nicer (has TV's), food is identical, views in RPC are better, RPC has one stop elevator access to the monorail & lobby of GF for atmosphere. If a view and the ambience of the main lobby at Christmas is important to you, then probably RPC. The price difference can be significant, so if money is an issue it seems everyone agrees that SL is now quite a fantastic deal. We're staying SL (for the 1st time) Nov 29- Dec 7. I'd LOVE to stay RPC, but personally can't justify the difference in price.

Check out that thread and post anymore questions there.

HTH!

sorry, not trying to be mean but you are totally living my disney dreams and since i have never stayed at a deluxe hotel I cant really comment but I imagine you will have a wonderful time wherever you stay. Sorry if I offended. :guilty:

triplefigs - thanks for the help

sugarmomma - no need to appologize ... sometimes it's just impossible to tell what someone's intentions are on the internet ...

sugarmomma, don't worry, I thought it was funny! The OP just took it the wrong way is all.

And I agree with triplefigs 100%. DFi and I are staying at Sugar Loaf for our honeymoon, but only because the honeymoon rooms at RPG were sold out. Here's hoping for a free upgrade at check-in!!! (and if we don't get one, we'll be perfectly content!)
