Where does one find sugar free goodies in the World? It just won't be disney without a treat!

Most buffets and restaurants have a few sugar free choices. You just have to ask or call ahead.

The Ice Cream Parlor at the end of Main Street in the MK now has a very good sugar and fat free ice cream. Just tried it recently and found it much improved over the old one. Would go back for another one!

I've had sugar-free cheesecake at the Boardwalk Bakery. It's been a while ago - so I'm not sure if they still have it, but I bet they would have "something" sugar-free!

It was really tasty!

Just because something is sugar-free does not make it low calories or low fat. Many times these so called sugar free desserts are made from products that essentially turn into sugar. I am not sure if you asking for sugar free because of calories or a sugar intolerance (diabetic, etc) so just be careful when eating "sugar free" because it is not a free ride. If you need something sweet try fruit with a small dollop of whipped cream. since desserts are also very large I always split desserts with others so I don't get overloaded with sugar that I don't need.

Sigh...I hear this almost every time I ask for sugar free. I'm not concerned about calories. My body processes sugar very poorly and refined sugar makes me violently ill. There are many people out there (me included) who know their disease, and their limits and just want an occasional treat. And no, fruit and whipped cream (which by the way has a lot of sugar as well) don't cut it. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be cross with you, it's just that I hear this all the time and unless you have to live this lifestyle it's hard to understand how much we DON'T want to hear "just eat some fruit". Especially when everyone else is eating cake and cookies. I'm off to take a chill pill now.

My body doesn't process sugars well either so please don't jump down my back. I go into insulin shock if I eat real or "fake" sugars that many sugar free desserts are made from. My point was to inform others that sugar free is not a free ride. Sorry fruit doesn't cut it for you. I usually order fresh fruit with whipped cream on the side because I can add just a little bit to give me just enough of a sweet taste. I personally would have rather have a very small amount of the real thing than a mountain of the fake stuff.

I second the chocolate mousse at the bakery in Norway! It is a must have every time I go to Epcot. Curious about the ingredients??? Here's the recipe...direct from the makers! (When making it yourself, I have found the little dark chocolate "nuggets" that Russel Stover makes work really well. I can get them in the Walmart here.)

Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse
Served at Restaurant Akershus
Norway Pavilion, Epcot Center

Ingredients:

Sugar Free Dark Chocolate 1 lb
Heavy Cream 1 quart
Egg Yolks 7 ounces
Equal ½ ounce

Method of preparation:

Whip cream to soft peaks. At same time melt chocolate in separate bowl. In another mixing bowl add equal and egg yolks. Beat until double in volume. Add whipped cream to egg mixture by folding them together. Then gently fold chocolate into other mixture. Place into refrigerator over night. Use extra shaved sugar free chocolate to garnish.

Yield: 8 servings

ENJOY!!!!!! :)

Why is it so hard to answer a simple question? All she asked was WHERE to get sugar free goodies, she wasnt asking for any dietary info. Just the facts, maam.:earsgirl:

I'm going to try the sugar-free cheesecake at the Fountain Bakery on our next trip. I've read that it has no crust, so no extra carbs from that. We just love to chill out with a treat from the bakery and enjoy the fountain when it's "in concert".

I've also read that most restaurants have some type of sugar free desert -- just ask or call ahead and inquire.
