Anyone here had a big weight loss on slimfast? I work a crazy schedual so cooking is a pain sometimes and Atkins friendly food is not always available... so I thought slimfast would fit better with our lifestyle. BUT, I have never seen anyone personally lose alot with slimfast. DFiance lost 70 pounds over four months using it BUT he wasn't working and ran tons of miles a day... etc. Anyone here on DIS had a big loss, we need to lose about 120 each.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone here has had success with this also. I've been considering drinking this for breakfast and lunch as time is a big issue for me (not much time for cooking with my work schedule either).

Ok, I'll fess up here! I met with a dietician last year and she gave me some nutrition guidelines, etc... but I went off her plan. I contacted her recently and asked if I could follow her plan for dinners and snacks and just do the Slim Fast drinks for breakfast & lunch since I have no time to think about those meals. She said she thought that as long as I was careful to take my vitamins, get enough calcium, and have my fruits/veggies that is was fine. She did say that many of her clients do this for either 1 or 2 meals a day and that the only thing they tell her is that they do get to a plateau more easily on these types of products. She said that I should change things up if I get to a plateau and eat something for breakfast, do the shake for lunch and a light dinner.

She also recommended that I try the WalMart brand of meal replacement shakes they are the "equate" brand name and cost $3.47 for 6 or $34.70 a month. I've also tried the new SlimFast Optima shakes (with less sugar) but they add artificial sweeteners and I hated them, I wrote to them and they sent me a voucher for a free 6 pack of something else. They did have more fat than the WalMart brand though, 5g vs. 3g.

Anyway, I've lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks on this and have been pleased with my results. I stay within 1500 calories a day and less than 30g/fat too and that is helping along with busting my butt at the gym alot!

A friend of mine who lives in another state lost about 75 pounds on this and has maintained it for over 2 years. In the past she had tried WW and other programs, like me, but found that they just weren't right for her. The hardest thing is the fact that I am just drinking a meal, but have gotten used to that now. I have lots of food allergies so I can't do the bars and snacks from them, I just do my own thing as far as the snacks and stuff and now I am planning out our family's dinners each week. I buy a lot of food from Schwans (where they deliver the meals to your home) and they have lots of low-calorie fish and chicken products that I use to keep my dinners reasonable.

Anyway-just wanted to let you know it has been working for me so far!

Wow, thats great! I'm hoping to lose a good amount before my cruise at the end of May and it seems that I could reasonably even do SF on the cruise... since they offer the cal/fat dinners now. So all in all it seems like a good diet. Glad to hear of a fellow Diser loosing weight on the plan. Gonna try to start Thursday when I go back to work.

I'm glad to hear this too. My DFi and I just started on Slim Fast today. I'll let you know how it goest for us.
