Succumbing to video games- which system?

Other than not as many new games coming out for the system as Wii, I would reccomend Playstation 2. It is $100 less than the Wii and there is a bundle coming out this month that has the Playstation 2 system and Toy Story 3 game for $99.99. Plus you can get lots of older games for next to nothing and there are many kid friendly games on the system. My local Toys R Us for example has a bunch of Nickelodeon Playstation 2 games for $3 - $5 as well as other games in the same price range.

I am also getting my kids a Wii for Christmas. They are still playing an old Nintendo 64, but for some reason it is not working with our new TV. My kids are 7 (DS) & 5 (DD).

Can anyone recommend games for the Wii that they would enjoy?

My 10 year old loves his Wii. He saved up for a long time, and bought it on his own. He also has a nintendo 64 system. He goes back and forth between the two.

He just bought some games for the nintendo 64 at a yardsale so he has been playing those. The big hits for the Wii are Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros., bowling, and an atv racing game (can't remember the name). He asked about buying super smash brothers, but I think we might hold off until his birthday. It's right after Christmas.

I think my little boy would love the ATV Game.

I love the Nintendo 64, especially since we already have a ton of games for it!

Just a word of caution, I got a bit addicted to the wii and gave myself a case of wii induced tennis elbow!

The Wii or PS3. Avoid the XBox. Ours just died with the red ring of death. It's younger than our Wii. For younger kids a Wii might be more fun since they have cute interactive games, Animal Crossing, Just Dance, Pokemon and Mario but the PS3 can play BluRay movies which is a plus for us. Of course, we play older games on the PS3 and use the Wii for exercise and kiddie games.
