I was wondering if anyone on this board has had success staying within their Weight Watcher's points while on a vacation in WDW and if you had any tips to share?

I can tell you that I did not do very well!!!! :rotfl: 2 months later, I'm just now getting back into the groove because I cheated on vacation!! Try to stick to your breakfast plan, which should be easy to do in the villa. Maybe a light lunch and then dinner of your choosing. My SIL(who is almost at her WW goal) and I (who is not even close to WW goal) sat at Ohana's eating everything that was offered and trying to guess how many gazillion points that those honey coriander chicken wings were! I wish you the best of luck, but part of the WDW experience for me is the food and I just couldn't not have it! ;)

I made lifetime August 2004 -- lost 130 lbs. Started in November 2002 and we go to Disney 3-4 times per year. I've never been able to actually count points, but I use what I learned to eat healthy and usually come back about one or two pounds up, which is always gone and then some the next weigh-in (I think it's mostly due to the excess salt -- I'm not used to it).

I make sure I get my veggies and water and do lots of walking and swimming. I aim for healthy breakfast (egg beaters, fruit, wheat toast with just jelly -- I avoid pancakes, french toast, etc.) and lunches (mostly salads with dressing on the side), then splurge on dinner (usually stick with fish, seafood, chicken, turkey, because I prefer those anyway, but I get what I want and aim to only eat half -- or, if an appetizer stikes me as the best thing on the menu, I'll get an app. with a side of veggies or a salad).

That said, I also give myself a treat every day. I HAVE to have a Dole Whip on every trip, and I'd rather have creme brulee than dinner! I try to share with DH, but sometimes he just doesn't like what I want so on those nights, again, I TRY to only eat half (and succeed about half the time).

GOOD LUCK!

I tell myself that walking 15 miles/day has to count for something. (I still gain weight, but I feel better about it.)

Tell yourself you're substituting quality for quantity.

Reward yourself for good behavior with a larger meal and dessert every few nights at your favorite restaurant.

Firmly establish your resolve before the trip. Don't leave home with any rationalizations.

If all else fails, substitute whiskey for food.

I have been on WW for over a year now. I have lost 64 pounds and am 1 pound from goal, which I hope to lose before my next trip in 10 days. I have only been once since I started WW. I went in Nov, but had already been on WW almost 11 months by then. I stayed exactly the same, which is what I hoped for. I know I went over my points, I didn't deny myself anything I was really dying to have, but didn't over indulge either. And there is so much walking involved, that excercise is not a problem. It was the 1st trip that I didn't gain something. You can do it! Once you have the knowledge on how to keep on track, it can be done!
