Subway

Is there any possible way this person is the lady that throws away people's doughnuts?

DOUGHNUTGATE!

Doughnutgate, I loved that debacle. If ever there was a warning in advance of a workplace shooting that lady was it.

I was a manager at Subway for 5 years so I know all about the products. All the veggies were fresh and freshly sliced in store (except for the picked veggies and lettue which came bagged). The two worst subs nutrition wise are the meatball sub and the coldcut sub. Both are extremely fatty and greasy. If you want meat the best choice is the turkey, ham or roast beef subs. I am a vegetarian and ate a TON of veggie subs when I worked there. I consider myself a very healthy eater and ate a 6 inch veggie sub almost every day for 5 years. I stayed very slim, ate all my subs with mustartd only, none of thier fatty sauces and consider this a very healthy meal. You could easily ask for the $2 cold cut sub , hold the coldcut or if they are unwilling to do that just ask for it on the side which they have to do and just throw the meat away.

So who is this Jared guy who claims to have lost all the weight eating lots of Subway sandwiches? More importantly, why does someone feel like they have the right to lecture other people about what to eat? I almost never eat bread now but appreciate the heads about this sale in case I decide to. I like the roast beef with spicy mustard on wheat.

However now I'm craving a Taco Bell gordita...

Not to take away from Subway but did anyone see this LivingSocial deal today for 5 big macs and 5 fries for $13? You know I rarely get my dd fast food, and I eat it even less often. However, I did get this. I don't think my athletic dd that has a wonderful figure and does trampoline and tumbling competitively is going to die from a few Big Mac or Subway coupons as a treat in her stocking. People really need to lighten up. I mostly cook seafood and chicken here in healthy recipes. Sometimes we have (gasp) red meat. Hey if it pleases my 14yo dd to get a big mac, subway, starbucks gift card or coupon in her stocking then so be it.

So those that oppose do you ever give a little treat in a stocking or for a birthday?

You can send fresh fruit via private messages now? That's awesome!

I always thought I was at least keeping up with technology, but now the Internet, the DIS, and the quoted poster have combined to show me I'm falling drastically behind!
Oh, I want some fruit sent to me also. If I remember correctly, it was a 1 year supply, right?

DOUGHNUTGATE!

That was the exact same thought I had!!! :rotfl:

*They* make some of the worst subs EVER. Subway is disgusting.

They certainly are not my first choice for a sub. But when on the road, they usually do in a pinch. If one gets a sub with cold cuts, there is hardly any meat. And they flat out don't do any of the specialty regional subs well at all. I look upon them as a better nutritional alternative to McDonald's hamburgers when on the road. But that better alternative doesn't extend to all of their sandwiches. And I'm given to understand the $2 subs aren't their better ones in that regard. And Subway's sandwiches aren't enjoyable enough to eat the ones that are terrible for you nutritionally. But I've never had anything flat out disgusting there. It's just bland, boring, corporate sandwich pretty much.

I might shoot you if you threw away my doughnuts at work. I work night shift in a hospital. There's nowhere to eat. NO WHERE! The cafeteria closes before my shift starts. If we don't bring it with us or have it delivered, it's vending machine only food. So, yeah, I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd brought something and you threw it out. (PS - I don't eat doughnuts, but if you threw out whatever I brought that you deemed unhealthy, there'd be hell to pay!)

I had to come and check this thread tonight and see what all had happened since I last visited. All I can think about now is how excited I am to learn that there are Sugar Cookie Poptarts!!! I am definitely going to be on the look out for those.

Also, my kids and I love Subway, and I am thrilled about the sub deal for December!

I thought of this thread today as I enjoyed my 6" turkey sub on wheat with lettuce, tomato, picles, black olives, jalapenos and spicy mustard. :lovestruc

One 6" sub every couple of months is not going to do me a bit of harm. Now the Lindt chocolates...

I love Subway! I go there about once a week for lunch. Always get the same thing: Turkey and swiss on wheat with light mayo or mustard, green peppers, cucumbers, pickles, and onions. I most often skip the bread when I'm eating it to save on carbs. Every so often I treat myself and add avocado.

I tend to get the footlong because I find the 6 inch is lacking in amount of meat.

I'm sure it's not the best for you, but it is certainly not even close to the "worst for you" meal either, as long as you are smart about what you order and how often you order it.

I tend to skip the lettuce because lettuce is hit or miss at Subways-sometimes tastes fine, other times tastes gross.

Has anyone tried their breakfast sandwiches? :confused3 I'm curious to try to western egg white.

Am I the only one who gets a sub with EVERYTHING on it? Cheese, pickles, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, olives, mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar. :woohoo:

I love the meatball subs!!! I love them with the *gasp* processed cheese and the *gasp* olives!!! Thank goodness that I don't get any of that nasty chemically treated lettuce on it though, I'm really saving my soul by avoiding that dangerous veggie!! :lmao:

And I volunteer to receive a years supply of fruit as well! I'll clear out my inbox to make sure I have plenty of room for the shipment :thumbsup2

That's what I did today at Subway. The girl wasn't willing to let me just hold the cold cuts, but she did agree to give me the meat on the side. Strange, but true. :upsidedow

Seeing as Pop Tarts have been mentioned, i will go off topic and ask if anyone has tried the peppermint Oreos, and how are they?

What reason would they have for refusing to hold the cold cuts? Especially if they know you're just going to throw them away if they insist you have them, even on the side. I just don't get that. It would save them money by not giving them if the customer doesn't want them. And isn't the customer always right anyway? :)

I've been wondering that too. I haven't been able to tear myself away from the holiday Oreos yet though. :lmao:
