Has anyone been able to make a substitution at Raglan Road? DH would much prefer to get the soup instead of a dessert.

Very few restaurants are doing the substitution. I'd be surprised if a Disney Springs, non-Disney-owned restaurant was doing it.

And even those that are, it is NOT something that is on the menu; it's a side salad or vegetable (that may be a side on one of the entrees) or perhaps a small cup of a soup that is on the menu, but not the size you would get if you ordered it as an app.

If a TS restaurant is allowing a substitution for the dessert, it is the restaurant's choice of what to offer in its place. Typically it is a small side salad, small cup of soup or a side veggie. You will not be able to choose something from the appetizer or starter section of the menu.

Great Thanks! Just thought since they had soup that it was a possibility. I guess I will just have to eat two desserts!

It is a possibility. You simply have to ask.

And no, it wouldn't be the size that is listed on the menu. It would be a cup rather than a bowl, of soup. In fact, it would be what you would, in a normal, restaurant get with your meal.

If your husband wants it, I would certainly take the time to ask.

It is a possibility, but he will have to ask because that might not be what the restaurant is offering or if they are even offering a substitution. The wording on the 2016 DDP in the TS section says:

†Ask your server about potential substitutions, but substitutions not guaranteed.

purplefigment, thank you for this. I didn't realize it had even been written into the brochure as a possibility!

You're welcome :). With so many changes to the dining plans, I was curious to see exactly which ones were mentioned, so I decided to read the "fine print" and came across this.
