Substitute TS for QS?

If I choose the DDP (Table service plan) do I have to use the table service or can I substitute a TS meal for a quick service meal? I can't see using table service every night and would probably use a couple of the quick service meals.

To my knowledge, you can't. But you can mix it up day to day, using say two TS one day (breakfast buffet & a dinner maybe) and then two CS another day.

You may be able to exchange 1 TS for 1 CS at your resort desk. And you may not be able to do so. I wouldn't try to count on it.

If you're not going to use all of your TS meals, you might want to consider QSDP instead and just go OOP for the TS meals you choose.

Wow I just assumed that if I didnt want to go table service I could do counter service since technically its alot cheaper!

We are hoping to get the free dining in late August (not annouced yet). But we would actually prefer the Quick Service Plan rather than the Table Service one. That is why we were wondering if someone could substitute the TS for the QS. Thanks again!!!

hhmmm, interesting! So there are possibilities.

Sure, there are possibilities - but it should not be expected (so that if a Guest can't use a TS credit for a CS meal, they would understand and not get angry at the CM or at Disney).

Now, on the other hand, during Free Dining in August/September the last couple of years, Disney has allowed this trade-off, more to appease Guests who, despite being urged multiple times that reservations really SHOULD be made, don't - then get upset that they can't use these stupid credits . Disney may or may not allow a similar trade-off during that period this year as well.

Disney gets so busy during free dining that not everyone can make adrs for table service meals therefore they have let people use ts for qs. Last year they offered an extra dessert or a tote bag along with the qs meal when you used a ts credit.

Don't get excited. The tote bag wasn't any big deal Just a mesh bag with a string closure

We were there last year during free dining and I personally would not use a ts credit on qs just to get the tote bag like some people did. If I had no choice but to eat qs because I could not get adrs or as in the ops case just did not want to eat all those ts meals than it was nice that disney gave you something extra for using a more expensive credit on a cheaper meal. Although I think they could have offered something of better value. At least they offered something.
