Anyone know if i can have a couple of sides instead of an entree on the DDP?

I am a veggie and at a couple of restaurants i have picked for my family i don't fancy the entree and the sides seem more to my liking.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks for any help.:goodvibes

The TS restaurant chefs will work with you to come up with an entree that it to your liking.

At CS eateries, not-so-much.

I was wondering about this myself!

But, my situation is that 3 of us want to go to Beaches & Cream, just for dessert. We'll end up with 1 or 2 extra TS credits, I know, because we share when we're not hungry enough to eat a full meal ourselves, but we're not counting on sharing when we make our ADR's.

That said, we were thinking it would be fun to go to Beaches & Cream one night using 1 TS credit - drink water (1 of us could get a coffee, I guess) and then get a hot fudge sundae as our main course and a no way jose as our dessert, using just 1 TS credit! That way, we'd both use up any extra credits we may have, and avoid having to pay OOP for the dessert!

It's kinda wishful thinking, but sounds like a good plan, doesn't it?

Yeah, sounds yummy. Your instinct is good: They won't allow it. :)

This seems to be one of those crazy DDP rules. Last time I was there, the women at the table in back of me at the Coral Reef were both trying to order 2 appetizers each instead of an appetizer and an entree (this would mean substituting a second appetizer for the entree). However, the server insisted that this wasn't allowed-that they had to follow the DDP rules and each order one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. The poor women kept saying it was a waste of food for them, since they couldn't eat that much, but the server wouldn't budge.

We never tried this at a TS restaurant, but the CS restaurants seemed a little more flexible. Specifically, CHH offered the person behind me a cup of chili or chowder with one of his meals instead of the dessert, since they already had 2 or 3 desserts for their party.

However, this was last summer, and a lot has changed since then. Especially at a place like B&C, where everybody just wants ice cream, I wouldn't expect they would be able to substitute a second sundae for the entree.

I think this is one of those gray areas on the current DDP. At Spoodles, one member of our family was able to order an appetizer as her entree. It was easily a double portion though and may have been charged in at a different price than it would have been as an appetizer.:confused3 I didn't see the bill. We appreciated the flexibility though.

Coral Reef does sound as if it is among the most rigid restaurants when adhering to the appetizer/entree/dessert . That doesn't seem particularily Disney friendly. Ordering two entrees would be one thing but ordering an appetizer in place of an entree is quite another. And an appetizer instead of a dessert would really make sense for diabetics, etc..

Thanks for all your help guys!:goodvibes

I suppose i shall just have to wait and see. Hopefully it will be ok to do. I agree if i was asking for something of greater value then i could see the problem but it would cost less and would be better suited to my appetite.

I would hate to waste too much food.
