I'm planning our fall trip and want to have a fall back in case I can't get a ADR at Le Cellier. We all get to pick a place for a dinner during our vacation and DH picked this one. He loves his steakhouse! Any ideas of something similar that we can go and be comfortable with a gramma and two kids:)

Hmmm...If it is steak that your hubby has his heart set on, I have heard that Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club is pretty good. We;ve never been though, :confused3

Coral Reef. My DH loved his steak there. Food was great & the kids loved watching the fish tank.:thumbsup2

Definitely the Yachtsman, it's wonderfully quiet, tables arn't cramped, and the food is DELISH!!! You can exit from the International Gateway, and easily return to EPCOT afterwards.

The Yachtsman is pretty good but it is signature dining, much quieter and definitely slower paced than Le Cellier.

Another choice that is also in the Epcot resort area is Shula's Steak House at the Dolphin. Looking at the menu shows that it is a high end steak and seafood resturant.

If you're looking for a similar price, then go with Coral Reef. I have had wonderful steak there, every time we go.
I didn't care for my steak at Yachtsman Steak House..it was badly overcooked. I could have sent it back but I was with a large group and they would have been ordering dessert by the time my steak returned. It is also much more expensive than either LeCellier or Coral Reef. Flying Fish also has good steak, but again, it's more expensive.

If it is steak your hubby has his heart set on, then head to Flying Fish on Boardwalk.

Le Cellier is popular, still can't figure out why. Yachtsman...horrible steak for anyone that really knows a great steak! Service is even worse!

Head to Shula's and point out to him that 48 oz. steak challenge.

I must disagree with a PP. We have been to Yachtsman twice and had wonderful food and service both times.

If we want to stay in WS, we sometimes go to Chefs de France as a second choice for Le Cellier. We enjoy it as much.

I agree, have been to Le Cellier twice. It is good, but not as good as you would think for how difficult it is to get adrs. :confused3

I really liked my steak at the Coral Reef.

+ 1 for Coral Reef...Had the steak twice and its just as good if not better than Le Cellier.

Another vote for Yachtsman. We loved it this past summer.

Coral Reef! My son had a great steak there. And, watching the fish is entertaining for all.

We had wonderful service and food in May. We were on our honeymoon...the waiter sat us by the window, and gave us a pre-printed menu with "Happy Honeymoon Gregg & Kelly" on it. They also gave us a complimentary desert sampling. All & all, it was the best service and food we had during our whole honeymoon!

Shula's is probably our top pick of steaks that we've had in WDW (maybe b/c its not really a WDW restaurant.) However, I don't think they take the dining plan and it is very pricey! ($40+ for steaks and its a la carte.) Since it is at a business/convention resort, it seems quite a bit more formal (and I know you mentioned some place "comfortable" with 2 kids.) There were a few kids there when we ate there, but definitely not like the kids at most Disney restaurants.

We also liked the Yachtsman- definitely more practical if you're on the dining plan.

We ate at Le Cellier last trip and thought it was just ok. We also had steaks at The Wave and Turf Club and they were wonderful :lovestruc

These seem like somewonderful options. We are going on the dining plan so I can rule out some choices that way. I'll have to look at the menus for these places to see what is best for DS6......hes not much of a meat eater.
