Substitute For Beverage?

In the Quick-Service plan, has anyone ever asked for / succeeded in substituting a snack in place of a beverage? I know! I know! Subs are not allowed, but I also know that sometimes the cast members will work with you when you have a legitimate concern. Hear me out: I eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant, where I can use my refillable mug for my beverage. Can I get a get a bagel or danish instead of a beverage (they cost roughly the same!)

I've seen people able to substitute a piece of fruit for a dessert.

I've substituted a bottle of water for a dessert. But was on the deluxe plan.

Not sure about a snack in place of a drink though..

I never asked for a substitution so I don't know if that would work, but when we used our mugs at the hotel for QS breakfast, we would grab a bottle of water or juice and throw it in our bags for later.

Not gonna happen. As PP said, you can grab a bottled drink to go, but you can't sub a snack for the drink.

One of the two absolute rules of the dining plan is that you may not trade a beverage for a food item (although at times it is possible to trade a dessert for a bottle of water at quick service).

The other is that you cannot order an appetizer instead of dessert at table service.

Your only real option if you would rather use your refillable mug for a beverage at the food court, is to select a bottled beverage and save it for later.

That's what I thought but couldn't hurt to ask. We did that last time, but had leftover water bottles and snack credits by the end... and had to pay OOP for our last few meals. Thanks for the feedback!

A lot of times we used snack credits for breakfast items like pastries, fruit, etc. instead of using the QS credits.
