Did anyone hear that Disney had committed to a Nemo themed attraction for the Sub Lagoon?

I had read about it a few weeks ago at www.yesterland.com . I wanted to show Dh and now the information is not there. I guess it was a false rumor and yesterland.com reported on it too early.

As an aside -- can you imagine how gross the "show building" underneath the waterfall is after so many years of not being used? I know Disney maintains things well, but I can't see them putting alot of energy into that area. :sad2:

Personally, I would like to see a Little Mermaid themed attraction. But, then again, I am a mom with 3 girls. :lovestruc I  Disneyland and it makes me sad to see such a beautiful area "empty." I keep hearing that the Sub attraction was a costly one to operate, and line backed up rather early in the day. I can't see it being worse than Dumbo, though.

They are putting a Nemo themed attraction where the subs used to be. I think it is slated to open next year.

Due sometime early next year (March-May) in the Lagoon the Finding Nemo ride will have a soft opening. MousePlanet has a photo update of the work being done every 2-3 weeks. At last look most of the track was laid and the framing was going in for some scenery and a block-house was being built for an AA display.

I'm really glad that DL didn't fill in the lagoon like WDW did. As of now the Monorail is running in shuttle mode to allow for major modifications to the Tomorrowland Station and the load queue for Nemo.

It is definately a Nemo themed ride there...the boards that are surrounding the lagoon so we can't see the development are all NEMO!!

Yep. We saw it last week. I don't think it's any secret.

THanks for the links to construction pics! I love seeing the progress. :cheer2:
