Sub. appy for dessert on ddp?

Has anyone who has been to the "World" recently found any cs or ts that has been willing to sub appy for dessert? If so, please give examples.Thanks...

Are you asking about doing the substitution on one of the dining plans?

I am pretty sure that is a no go. You can only get a dessert on the DP not an appetizer. I have never seen an exception to this. (I am ony only talking about the regular dining plan post 1/08, and not the deluxe plan.)

The only one we came across was EoS, you could get chips instead of a dessert. I have not heard of any TS.

Imagine- two people are at a TS-- one will get an appetizer-- the other one dessert and both will share both.
Takes longer to turn the table to the next people. (I am reading that is why Disney did away with the appetizer)

to answer your question-- the answer is no you can not substitute it.

Now to ask another question-- if on the dining plan can you BUY an appetizer- how would THAT work?>

Still no subs. appys for dessert. You can purchase an appy and it just appears separate on your bill.You then can pay cash,or credit

I forgot, you can get a bowl of fruit if you don't want dessert. Everywhere we went seemed to allow that, though we never did it!

The policy at WDW is that substituting appetizers for desserts on the basic plan is never permitted under any circumstances.

If you want an appetizer that is included get the Deluxe Dining Plan. The deluxe still includes the appetizer and dessert.

Thanks for all of your answers. I don't need the deluxe plan, because it is too much food for us. We have use the standard plan in the past and sometimes we would have rather had onion rings or chips at a counter service instead of a dessert. I will ask about fruit when it is an option.

You can ask at counter service. They might not say no, especially regarding something like a bag of chips. At table service it will not be permitted.
