SU ink caddy question...

Got the SU ink caddy. Anyone else have a prob with it? The center threaded part isn't long enough when all the trays are in place. If I take out a tray, I can screw the top on. But, do I really have to use it missing 1 tray?

Deb I know when I put moms together I really had to push down on the top tray to get it to catch and latch on.
