Hello Everyone! :)

I am in a tizzy over who I should pick to be our videographer. For those who have used STVS or Starfruit Productions, can you share what was the deciding factor for who you picked to be your videographer and why? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Have a magical week!

Cost was my deciding factor. I went with STVS because I only want a few hours of coverage and he was much cheaper than Star Fruit, although I really love their work.

I just fell in love with Stan's work so I went with him. I don't think I even looked into Star fruit but I have seen their work and they do an amazing job.

I think they are both great but there was just something very romantic about STVS's videos. Plus, I like that STVS offers webcasting now. We do have it with our package so now our family and friends in New Jersey that could not make it to Disney can still watch our ceremony live. :goodvibes

Also, Stan is great with responses and will talk with you on the phone to get you exactly what you want. I think I was on the phone with him for almost an hour figuring out what kind of package would work best for what we wanted. :thumbsup2

I picked Star Fruit because I wanted a polished, cinematic look for our video and more than one camera operator, so we could get different angles.

Sage worked with me to customize a package that fit our budget and our requirements (we wanted all the raw footage on DVR in addition to edited DVDs), and I selected all the music.

You can see the 5-minute montage here (the resolution is crummy on this site, though):

Lurkyloo,

I absolutely love your music!!! It was so perfectly timed. Thank you for the additional resources.

I have to give a thumbs up to Cinema Chic - I don't have our video yet, but working with Kat was amazing.

Even though I haven't used either one of them, I would choose STVS. Its important to me when a vendor gets back to me in a timely manner. I'm not expecting right away, I just love great customer service. I have received this thus far from Stan. No matter what you decide, if you go with STVS make sure you know your date because the deposit in non-refundable. Let us know what you decide.

PS-Stan offers live stream video of your wedding...this was a selling point for us since many will be unable to make but can still feel apart of our day and watch it online.

We chose STVS for our wedding and dont regret a single penny of our decision. Stan was amazing through the whole process. He was the fastest of all our wedding contacts in responding to emails/phone calls. He talked with me forever during our first phone call helping me decide what package to get, and NEVER tried to 'sell' anything. At the actually wedding he was there promptly, on time, and was very quiet (never intrusive during the ceremony like some videogs can be). Our guests barely knew he was there! He had our sneak peek ready about halfway through the reception and our guests LOVED being able to see it so quickly, reliving the special moments.

I want to point out about STVS, something I never noticed on the day of the wedding, even though Stan works alone most of the time, he sets up several cameras. We have multi-angles during the ceremony. He was able to capture the 'aisle view' and close ups of our reactions with the hand-held during our vows. Amazing...truly amazing!!

This sounds what I'm looking for, but I can't find any costs on the website. Does anyone know where I can find their packages and prices?

TIA!! :goodvibes

If you contact Stan through their website they are quick to send their pricing to you. Also, if you're having your wedding in 2009 Randy Chapman and Stan have special pricing if you use both of them for your special day (They recently partnered to do this). Your under no obligation to do so, but the pricing is awesome.

I originally wasn'y going to get a videographer but if I can find a good one for less than 1k I'll go through with it. I only want to get a montage of us getting ready, the ceremony, our first dance, bride/father dance and groom/mother dance... how long should that be?

I like both STVS and Starfruit.

Can anyone tell me how much the webcam / live streaming thingie is with STVS?

It's something a member of family asked about the other day, so thought I'd investigate it as a possibility....

we went with stvs as well and I wish they had done the streaming when we got married as we would have done that.

Our video is great and i'm so glad we went with stan and not a cheaper alternative
