Does doing housework count as 'exercise' if it makes you sweat?

TOV

Anything, short of sitting in front of the TV, could be considered exercise.

Housecleaning can be a very physically demanding activity. If it you felt like you got a workout, you probably did.

I have been told that if you raised your heartrate and kept it up for at least 10 minutes then it is enough exercise. Doing anything to raise your heartrate is great, but you need to keep it up for an amount of time to reap any benefit. That's why they say at least 20 to 30 minutes of exercise a day can help. It takes about 10 to get up there, 10 to stay there, and 10 to come down back to where you were - depending on the exercise/activity of course.

there are NO stupid questions -- except those you don't ask!! LOL (HUGS)

anyhow -- i think it's a personal decision what you count as your daily exercise. housework for me is just 'bonus activity' but depending on where you are at physically i think each one of us makes that call. and you can change your mind later!
