Stupid Question, Flight Mode

They are not asking passengers to turn the airplane mode off,
they are asking passengers to turn the entire phone device off.

An iPod is a "digital device" as well.
They ask that those be turned off for take-off and landing, too.

I know an iPod is a digital device. I always follow the rules when I fly. I've just haven't been in a plane since I got my iphone. I guess I should've said I'm glad that I'll still have music if I'm not allowed to have my phone on at all during a flight

Then what's the point of airplane mode? I'd be ticked esp. Because my phone is my iPod and I need music to calm me down while flying. I do Not like the sound of the engines

You can turn it back on once you're at the approved height in the air, at the point when they let you turn on electronic devices. If you can't keep your phone off for 15 minutes until then to abide by their rules, then thats a bigger problem.

i never said I didn't turn it off during take off and landing. I was saying if I couldn't use it at all on a flight. (sorry I had to edit a few posts, maybe they'll clarify) I always turn my ipod and kobo on when told, and turn it off when landing. I was just asking why have an airplane mode if some airlines will allow you to use it while some will tell you to keep it off and its been answered
