Stupid question - but where do you get the bed?

So, when the DVC says it can accomodate 5 but you bring the bedding and linens ect... where do you get the bed from?

You don’t get a bed. I assume you are talking about the 1 bedrooms at some resorts (BRV, BCV, BWV, etc). Basically that person would be expected to sleep on the floor essentially. SSR in the remodel I believe did add the 5th sleeping surface for their 1 bedrooms so not sure that is correctly updated on the site yet.

These resorts have a bed for the 5th in the 1BR. They have sleeper chair or flip down TV (murphy) bed for the 5th.

HHI and Vero does have the 5th bed spot as well. CCV will not allow you to even book 5 while BWV, BCV and BRV will allow 5 but you need to bring airbed or pile up sofa cushions or some such for the 5th guest.

Studios....I need to look up which have the flip down TVs. OP, do you need info on studio or 1BR?

I have a kids air mattress for camping in my owner's locker. It was a few bucks at Wal Mart in the summertime. I've used it a surprising amount to avoid kids sharing beds, even.

In fact, the 2022 and 2023 SSR points charts have this note at the very bottom: “Sleeping capacity in one-bedroom and two-bedroom accommodations at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are subject to change, with the potential removal of the single pull-down bunk-size bed.” So I wouldn’t count on it being there, and I wouldn’t count on being able to book 5 in an SSR 1 BR.

Which is super what the what. Why would they use the labor to remove the pull downs when they have VWL to refurb. For crying out loud.

It is the "subject to change" language. Not being in HA units isn't in that bucket.

We use to bring a air mattress. They pack easily into carryon. We did bring out own bedding. The kids would rotate using it because it smelled like home.

All 1BR villas, except AKV value and CCV, allow you to book 5 guests. Don't see that changing. It's been since we joined DVC in 2006.

Just have to keep an eye on the SSR 1 BR, based on the note I quoted above.

SSR has always permitted 5 on a BYOB basis.
