Stupid question about tickets

Hi all, so we are going to head over to Universal for one day at the end of our Disney vacation. I might be doing this wrong but looking at the universal site it looks like it would be more expensive for my family of 5 to do one day of park to park tickets along with the unlimited express pass add on than if we booked a one night room package that would have one day of tickets, unlimited express pass and early entry? Am I making a mistake somewhere or does that sound right?

That is typically the case. If you stay at Royal Pacific, Portofino Bay, or Hard Rock, the Unlimited Express Pass is included at no additional charge, and in most cases, this will be cheaper than purchasing the Express Pass. It is especially true with a large family (5 is large to me - it is just 2 of us). FYI, it is good for the day of check-in through the day of check-out, so if you stay one night, you get 2 days of Express Pass and Early Entry both days. The package is also sometimes more expensive than buying the tickets separately, but I've purchased the package before just for convenience.

It absolutely sounds right.

And if you got two days worth of tickets you would get that early entry and unlimited express for BOTH days for that one night stay.

And if you look outside the package, and check out room-only hotel rates and getting tickets from wherever you want, it might be an even better deal.
