Stupid question about checking luggage

You can tell I haven't flown in years by this question: We just bought a set of luggage and 1 of them is big enough to be "checked" luggage and the others are labeled "Carry on". Can we check the small pieces too, like the
21" suitcase? We're using ME and I'd rather they just take them right to the hotel room and we'll only carry 1 or 2 small suitcases with us.

You still might want to consider a carry-on with a change of cloths, tooth brush and any essentials you might need. Have your bags lost once or even delayed and you'll follow this plan on every future trip .

Thanks. Yes, I do plan to put a change of clothes for the kids and at least a couple of shirts for us just in case, along with toothbrush and stuff like that. I can fit that in 1 small bag. I just didn't want to have to lug more than that around.
