Okay, I feel really stupid even asking this, but I'm a brand new AAA member.
Are you able to use a AAA discount picking up tickets AT DL (ie. showing it at the ticket counter)? Are there any other discounts in/around DL (other than hotels)? Restaurants? Merchandise?
Is there a AAA branch close enough to DL that I could easily pick up tickets after we arrived? Would it be possible to call a local CA branch and purchase tickets over the phone to have sent to us? Our local doesn't carry them either. I'm going to look at the option of purchasing a package, but I've often found going the non-package route to be the cheapest!

You might be able to have tickets sent to your house if your local branch doesn't carry them, just call your branch or go on to the AAA website for info. As far as discounts outside of the tickets and hotel rooms, I believe Goofy's Kitchen and the Plaza Inn have discounts, as do a couple of the shops inside the park (but not all, if I remember correctly). It never hurts to ask at any store when you're checking out just in case!

I'm curious about this too. I purchased our tickets yesterday through the Gay Days ticket site,(I'm not gay but you don't have to be to purchase these tickets) but I'm wondering if I would've been able to purchase them with an AAA discount once we got there and avoid paying the shipping fees. Even with the fees, we still saved about $38.00 on two 2 day park hoppers. I'm just wondering what the AAA discount would've been and if the discount is available at the gate.

Am I looking in the wrong place? :confused3 On the AAA website, I find a section under "travel" that talks about Disney packages, but see nothing about tickets, and I see a section called "savings", but nothing about Disneyland or WDW.

Go to the Discount section and if your office has them they will be under Theme Park Tickets

When on the AAA website, you can type in "theme park tickets" in the search engine and it should bring up references to what you need. They offer tickets to a number of the theme parks in the So Cal area except (I think) Knott's. They don't seem to list all the Disney discounts such as restaurants and shops on the site (at least on mine they don't- I'm in AZ), only the parkhoppers and hotel packages. I just learned of some of the discounts at the park myself like Goofy's Kitchen, and have been a AAA member for years!

Not to sound really even more stupid, but could you possibly post or PM me a link? For the aaa website I have, there is no "discounts" section, or I'm really missing it. In the travel and savings sections, there is no category for Theme Park Tickets.

Well, I did this (thank you!) and all I have is the Bush theme parks in FL, Sea World, Bush gardens, etc., Sesame Place and Universal Orlando! Grrr. Is there a "national" site that will get me more complete? Or is having my AAA in Minnesota going to hold me back???

If Goofy and the Plaza Inn take them, what about the Princess meal?
thanks so much!!!!

I would call your AAA local branch and speak with a customer service agent or a travel agent and ask them where you can possibly pick them up or order them. That must be frustrating to not be able to find them on your website! Living in a smaller town in AZ, our local branch sometimes doesn't carry certain park hopper tickets, but some of the branches in Phoenix does (at one time we could only get 3 day hoppers or 5 day). Your branch should be able to help you or try calling the 1-800 number on the back of your AAA card for more state-wide help. They are great to deal with and have been a huge help to me with vacations for over 10 years now.

The AAA Travel phone number is 1-800-436-4222. They will be able to help with the tickets.

Thanks to everyone! Apparently, there really is only a "token" discount for DL area hotels under the AAA discount for the timeframe we'll probably be going. Was able to talk to AAA rep in our area yesterday. The package was only about $40 cheaper than what I was quoted directly from Disney. (Total, not per night).
I was able to find out that I can get three day hoppers from the local AAA for $143. I will probably do that.
Oh, on another question, Sea World in San Deigo discount? I can find info on the site for Sea World Orlando, you just show your card. Same in SD? How much of a discount do you get? Any of the restaurants there?
Thanks again! I knew I could count on the Dis!

We just showed our AAA card when purchasing tickets at the gate at Seaworld. Saved a lot! If I remember correctly it was 60+- dollars on 4 adults. (it was 4 years ago) Did not eat there so I don't know if there is a discount in the restaurants.
