Ok, I have filled my first memory card... it is downloaded via my digital camera software... is it now safe to erase my memory card? also, if I change my mind and opt for a shutterfly, etc on the web can I transfer over from my files?
Thanks!

If your pictures are on the hard drive, then it is safe to erase your card. You can upload them to shutterfly, imagestation or whereever.

BTW, how many pictures did you download?

Cassie,
I have a small card right now... it has approximately 50 pics on it... I am just so confused about whether to print my own pics or go with a professional place... I am an avid scrapbooker and can't imagine my photos being subpar... I have printed a few and they look great on my printer but it is a low end Epson... so...
Thanks for your help!

I don't print out my pics either. If I want a print I use Imagestation or Snapfish. The prints are reasonable and come out good.

I have never heard of Snapfish... is it good? I have heard of Ofoto, Shutterfly and Imagestation... also, if you upload your photos to them, how long do they keep them? Sorry I have so many questions... I just want to make sure I don't mess something up...

I used Snapfish to print my first pictures take with my new Sony Mavica CD400. They came out good.

I will definitely look into them... I figure that I will keep the photos on my harddrive and upload the ones that I want printed professionally... I do not have a CD rewrite so I wonder if I should go have a CD made of my photos...

When you become a member of any of those sites, they offer so many free prints to start. It's a good deal. Most of my pictures are on Imagestation. They'll allow you to link them to post here on the Dis. You can keep them there as long as you want. I have some on Webshots that I made a screensaver with them of my last trip to WDW. It's really great. My computer didn't come with a cd burner, so I bought one to add internally. I'm just learning how to put the photos on a cd.

That sounds like a good idea! I was wondering about the photos for the future...
